Stereotypically Tenn. is.........

what should Tiger drive then? It's not like Buick's are bad cars. By all accounts the Lacrosse is pretty spiffy. It doesn't carry the cachet of Cadillac, MB, or BMW but Tiger has always struck me as the kind of person who doesn't need the ego stroking a "fancier" car gives.

Yeah, and he could have a pontoon boat too instead of a fancier one.

Rick Ocasek and Mick Mars disagree with you.

I knew you were going to pull some crap like that. I would guess they either got lucky in their pursuit of women a couple of times or they have some special gifts....

I'll put it to you this way. Peyton could not live the Brady lifestyle even if he desired to. It just would not work. He might could pull some hot babe because of his money, but he could not make a habit of continiously having different hotties on his arm.

I would be willing to bet you a substantial amount of money that Peyton if he wanted to could pull some pretty fine A**

I mean come on have you seen Ice-T's wife? How about the girl James Blount was with at the Grammys Sunday night, those two alone prove you don't have to be Rico Suave when you the money these guys have...

I ain't sayin she's a gold digga...but she ain't messin with no broke n*gga....

You can do some very creative marketing for timepieces, so that would be his best shot. However, do you actually think he would be a good spokesperson for top end suits, sunglasses, or other apparel?
Apparel, no. Let's face it, he wouldn't wear such well if that were the focus of the ad...
But I wouldn't shy away from the challenge of placing him for high end lifestyle type things... top hotels etc...
From all accounts, he's remarkably good at bringing personality to his on camera ad work. I'd be willing to make a 500K gamble on him as a pitch for some top dollar products...

IN case you missed it, I said he could, there are always some women willing to go for just the money. But he could not make a habit of it. He could not just pick any woman he wants and get her. I like any UT alum that does well in their chosen sport, but to be honest about it. Peyton is kind of a dork, socially speaking.

I agree with that...however if you are going to go there I don't believe Tom Brady can pick any girl he wants either...

The fact is Brady would kill to do the amount of adds at the coin Peyton pulls. He demands top dollar as does Tiger and LeBron. As far as pulling women? He is a multi millionair NFL QB. If he wanted to it would not be an issue.

Your statement tells me you have never met the man. Your perception of him is what it is and that is fine. But you are very much wrong.

Of course it is not an issue. He could pull all the good looking nobody's making $35,000 a year that you have never heard of.

I've met him a couple of times, seems like an affable sort. However, he's not going to fit well at Mansion or B.E.D. on South Beach.

When it comes to marketing... there is a lot more $ outside of South Beach than in South Beach. Business is one thing. Trying to look like a playa is another. If you are you don't have to act. PM is a very classy man.

I would agree he's classy. However, on a hipness scale, he rates somewhere between Angela Landsbury and John Tesh.

I have heard that B. Bellicheck deters his players from doing a bunch of adds. I have no idea if this is true.

So tell me how I am wrong other than you saying I am wrong. I am not saying he is socially inept, in fact he is a good speaker and very intelligent. But he is not the "cool" guy in the class. Not even close.

No way a coach can do that with the star players. They want as much face time for their stars as the stars want for themselves. This is a business and any face time for your studs is a good thing.

It's not his thing to be "hip". But I do know that he pulls those in the league who are hip to him. There's an air that some have that crosses over. Play golf with some of these guys and you will be very much surprised at the interaction once the media is not around.

Every marketers dream is the 18-34 male demographic. I guarantee South Beach is far more plugged into what that demo likes and finds hip than Knoxville or Indianapolis. I'm quite confident Manning doesn't rate in the top 5 most popular athletes in that age group. His demographic is middle age folks who buy into his whole golly gee schtick. He has the street credibility of Clay Aiken. If you want to talk about someone bringing dollars to his sponsor, talk about Allen Iverson and Reebok. Iverson has sold more shoes and gear in his career than Manning, Brady, Urlacher, and LT combined. That's the difference between being some guy in a commercial and having true market impact. I would love to see this great Manning effect you claim exists. How much has the stock of various sponsors risen since he came on board? Do you know people that have rushed out to buy products because they saw one of those goofy commercials? Of course not. Reebok doesn't even have to do big campaigns anymore. They simply roll out the new Iverson kicks and people buy them. AI is a, good or bad depending on your perspective, cultural icon. Manning is just another guy in a football helmet. Next, Phillip Rivers will be doing those commercials.

Its because of the flash of AI and how much fun he is to watch but I would buy Nash before AI and we both know how much street cred Nash has BLING BLING:unsure:

I can only speak with some certainty about the guys from the "U" and a couple of guys from UT. They don't dislike him. However, I don't think Clinton Portis is going to be inviting him to the next party he throws at Pure Platinum. You should hang out in a club with some of those guys, it might loosen you up a little.

Yeah, Nash is such a marketing icon that Nike puts him with 9 other guys in the commercials pimping his shoes.
