I was referring more to the defensive talent on those pat's teams verses the Colts. If Pm had traveled to the playoffs this year with the same defense they started the season with he wouldn't have made it to the show again.

So true, it takes more than a good offense to win it all. I love how so many people say P.M. couldn't win it all yet don't mention the Pats defense. The Pats defenses have been incredible- Samuel, Ty Law, McGinnist, Seymour, Bruschi, Ted Johnson, Lawyer Milloy, Vrabel. The Colts have Sanders and Freeney and a bunch of guys that stepped up. Brady has also had good rbs and Dillon and Maroney are nice duo. Brown, Givens and Branch weren't exactly scrubs either. I don't think it's a stretch to compare the Colts offense to the Pats defense as far as talent and the Colts D to the Pats O talent wise.

If I remember correctly the Patriots won one of their Super Bowls with Troy Brown playing DB...vs Carolina their defense definently didn't win that game...

As long as Brady and Manning are playing in the NFL, this debate will rage on (unless Manning goes on a streak of winning SB's). I'm glad the monkey is off his back (shouldn't have ever been there). I personally think QB's get too much credit and too much blame for wins/losses. Football is truly a team sport and it is very difficult for one player to win a game (unless your last name is Hester).

I'm just glad Manning didn't get beat by a former Gator. He survived two of them Caldwell and Grossman.

the Colts also had Marlin Jackson playing corner for and injured Nick Harper. No doubt Wayne and Harrison are great but I wouldn't call Aaron Moorehead or the third string tight end they had to use (Fletcher) studs. P.M. makes all of them better, Harrison was not who he is before P.M. took over. P.M. has also gotten it done in the playoffs without much help from M.H. He used a rookie (Addai 10 catches) and a backup in Rhodes( I think he caught several passes too).

I understand what you are trying to say however, those are significantly different things than having a WR play defense...

Yea without looking at it didn't they have just a ton of injuries to their secondary that year?

It's not like Troy Brown was in on every down. He was only in for nickel and dime situations. A great schemer like Belicheck knows how to protect the weak links in his defense.

Yes, but I don't care how many downs he played they still had to plug in a Wide Reciever to help them out on defense...name the last player to do that...

Terrell Owens did it this past season.

:eek:lol:

Oh my Gosh...you can't be serious...Parcells put him in and he stood on the goaline to defect a hail mary at the end of the game...come on my man you gotta come with something better than that.....
