Dwayne Wade already has many more endorsements than James and his star is still ascending. Look at the numbers for urban viewers of primetime network television. Unless they are running Captain Stats on the WB, he isn't hitting much of an urban audience. Not many of those folks watching those awful CBS comedies. Manning is about as popular in Harlem as Matt Hasselback. In fact, next time I'm in the City and go to dinner at Sylvia's, I'll do a poll. My guess is not one person in the neighborhood will have bought anything he sells or really give a damn if he turns blue and dies.
Boston Legal. There's a show with a huge inner city following. I bet they have viewing parties in Bed-Sty and Cabrini Green.
Rooting against the Colts would have required me actually caring who won the Super Bowl. I didn't waste the energy to cheer for either team. Had the ground at Dolphins Stadium opened up and swallowed both teams, I would have scarcely cared or noticed. You don't like PM and probably pulled against the Colts just because he plays for them.
Marketing is about selling product. Manning sells stuff that appeals to a middle class audience. He would fail miserably trying to sell high end products or sneakers. Those audiences have no real use for him. I can see it now: "Hi, I'm Peyton Manning for Cartier. When I need to know how long I have before I have to pick up my pal Kenny Chesney at the airport for a day of fishing and rubbing suntan lotion on each other, I look at my fine Swiss timepiece." or "This is Peyton Manning for Canali. When the wife and I head to our favorite redneck joint for all you can eat catfish, I like to roll in a fine tailored Italian suit."Well we all know that inner city is where the money is. I mean is advertising not about selling a product? Face it hate. You don't like PM and probably pulled against the Colts just because he plays for them. He is the face of the NFL.

The humor is not lost on me, but the reason IMG doesn't put him on higher dollar product lines likely has more to do with not wanting to position him in a, perception wise, elitist income level...
Tiger could be selling Ferrari's...who really thinks he hits the town in a Buick? Seriously...

A moment of seriousness from me: I don't dislike Manning. However, IMG could want to put him in those roles and it wouldn't matter. His image would never fit the products. Brady, for example, hits the marks perfectly for those companies. Also, I'll guarantee Tiger is contractually obligated to drive a Buick at least an appreciable portion of the time. The humor is not lost on me, but the reason IMG doesn't put him on higher dollar product lines likely has more to do with not wanting to position him in a, perception wise, elitist income level...

:lol:On the flip side, for some reason I have no problems picturing Mickleson rolling down the street in a Ford Focus.

what should Tiger drive then? It's not like Buick's are bad cars. By all accounts the Lacrosse is pretty spiffy. It doesn't carry the cachet of Cadillac, MB, or BMW but Tiger has always struck me as the kind of person who doesn't need the ego stroking a "fancier" car gives.

Man, I'd love to have the creative for Rolex and test your theory!
You may be right, I'd love to see some Q's on Peyton...
You can do some very creative marketing for timepieces, so that would be his best shot. However, do you actually think he would be a good spokesperson for top end suits, sunglasses, or other apparel?Man, I'd love to have the creative for Rolex and test your theory!

I think it's more personality and image. Manning is married to his college sweetheart and listens to country music. Brady runs with women like Bridget Monyhan, et al and kicks it hip. That's the difference. That is just not who Peyton is.
To be honest, Peyton is just an average looking Joe. That is why he would never fit into ads for things like a Rolex.
On the other hand, Brady would be considered a good looking man, so that is why he gets contracts with the glitzy stuff.
They are who they are.
