Reggie Bush is probably in the top five now, too. Maybe even Vince Young. They need to come out with a new friggin' list.

manning is the biggest thing in the NFL to you. to me. i take LT over manning everytime as the biggest thing. take off your orange glasses beef. you're close to winning this one

That is 100% completely crazy...Manning's face is everywhere in commericals, he is the face of the NFL whether you believe it or not...I have only seen LT in one commerical for Nike and half of the commercial he wore a mask...

just cause he's in commercials doesn't make him the biggest thing ever. brady had all the commercials two years ago, in two more years someone new will have all the commercials. if i'm starting my team today and i can pick any player i want i'm taking LT over Peyton in a heartbeat. LT has also done commercials for ESPN, AT&T, and Canon.

Nowhere in this thread did anyone ever mention who they would take to start a team until you just brought it up, we were not debating that....

YOur smoking crack. PM has done more commercials this past year than Brady has done in his career. You may not like it, but PM is the biggest thing in the NFL and is probably the most recognizable athlete in the nation.

What is so funny is that those of you who don't like PM used to bash him and say that he was too busy doing commercials to win the SB.

maybe more primetime commercials, but as hatvol pointed out and you refused to accept is brady does more upscale ads that don't appear on television. they appear in magazines and what not. and you may not like it, but peyton is up in the running for the biggest thing in the NFL right now, not biggest thing ever. no one's proven that peyton sells the most jerseys. all we've discovered is a mere two years ago he wasn't even in the top ten.

umm, show me one time i've said that. i dare you

Dwayne Wade, Alen Iverson, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony are all more recognizable. That's always been the case with basketball players. By the way Beef, did you see the jersey figures that were posted earlier in this thread? It appears the only reason Manning would be high on that list now would be the bandwagon Super Bowl effect. However, it was nice seeing you try to tell us that his jersey is the dominant seller. You seem to forget that a good portion of the marketplace in America is in urban centers. Manning has about the same popularity in those precincts as George Bush.

hate knows better and just wanted to argue. But I'll clear it up for you. Tom Brady his agent and every other player and agent in the NFL would love to have the marketability of PM. The reason Brady does the upscale magaziner adds is because that is the best he can do. The market dictates and PM sells. If not he wouldn't be in the adds.

BTW to all you PM bashers, I'm saying booo not moooovers. :)

Tell us all again how Manning has gone from outside the top 5 in jersey sales to being this dominant force in the sports apparel market.

Where did I say jersey sales were THE factor? It is one and I will say again. Manning is one of if not the most recognized in the nation. Labron is as well.

LeBron isn't even the most recognized guy in his own league. You were the one on here talking about how many jerseys Manning sells, trying to use that as some key factor in showing this immense popularity he has. The bottom line is this: Manning is a white, wealthy hick who does a good job selling products to white, middle class hicks. That's his appeal. His marketability to an urban audience is nonexistant.

Not just to me. How many Commercials do you see LT doing? How many jersey's does PM sell? He is the biggest thing to hit the NFL in many, many years. It doesn't matter where he went to school. It just so happens he wore Big Orange and I think that is cool.

yeah, you didn't mention jersey sales. our bad

LeBron will make more on endorcements than anyone in the NBA since Jordan before he is done. Manning hits all sectors. He sells primetime adds on the networks on non sporting programs. That hate is marketability. You may not (apparently you don't) like it but that doesn't change it.

That wasn't the posters question, which made your post so absurd. That's typical for you guys. I'm stunned you or one of the other stat worshippers didn't break out Fulamanure's winning percentage in games played in November, against teams with losing records, who were not QB'd by Jay Cutler. The poster made a prescient, insightful point about this program's inability to produce in games of substance. You can rant and insult him all you want. That won't change the fact he is 100% correct.

While a appreciate and agree with your point, I believe that references to a Vanderbilt loss are harmful to all of us in the Nation.

Though they are quite effective in destroying delusion, they remind Lexvol of everything that he hates in this world.

i've seen Lebron sprite commercials during the middle of sitcoms and reality shows on a thursday night. he's on all those spots too. if you really think manning sells to urban Los Angeles, arguing with you is worthless

Didn't say that I didn't mention jersey adds there billy boy. I didn't say they were THE main factor either. The main factor is that PM is about the ONLY sports guy doings adds during Boston Legal or other shows. Funny thing is that I don't recall your boy brady doing any either.

Didn't say he didn't there skippy. I think he is the face of the NBA right now and will make MILLIONS on adds before he is done.

as mentioned, lebron does commercials in other shows and brady commercials were everywhere two years ago. in two years, some other NFL guy will be everywhere. it's how it works.

Dwayne Wade already has many more endorsements than James and his star is still ascending. Look at the numbers for urban viewers of primetime network television. Unless they are running Captain Stats on the WB, he isn't hitting much of an urban audience. Not many of those folks watching those awful CBS comedies. Manning is about as popular in Harlem as Matt Hasselback. In fact, next time I'm in the City and go to dinner at Sylvia's, I'll do a poll. My guess is not one person in the neighborhood will have bought anything he sells or really give a damn if he turns blue and dies.

Boston Legal. There's a show with a huge inner city following. I bet they have viewing parties in Bed-Sty and Cabrini Green.
