For those of piling on, had this not come out, would you argue against Paterno being a pretty good guy?
Or is all this name calling and verbal/typed abuse long stemmed hatred towards a 1000year old football coach that started under the Truman Administration?
Just clarifying.

I'm sure the students parents will understand. That gives them more timte to transfer their kids to a decent school. UT has some spots open.
Two things:
Why do you assume that Paterno trusted the GA?
Why is Paterno at fault for reporting to the AD who then reported it to Shultz (who oversaw the Penn State Police Department)?
The AD and Shultz are the ones who lied about this and never moved forward, respectively.
No word on Mcqueary, but Gov. Tom Corbett has called a press conference for 8:30pm tonight. Likely announcing that President Spanier is gone, possible announcing that Paterno is fired.
If you don't think their entire school's reputation is in the crapper, you're a complete idiot, but that wouldn't be inconsistent with what I already thought about you.
There's one coach on staff who accused a former coach of assraping a child in the locker room. Both of them are apparently walking around the football facilities all the time. What kind of organization does that happen in?
I don't care how much anyone wants to pretend that Paterno had his head in the sand about it. McQueary saw Sandusky. Sandusky saw McQueary. And yet they were both together for the next decade, part of the same football program. That's screwed up. That's the organization our Great Man was running.

I'd say him failing to notify the authorities that his buddy, the serial child ass raper, was caught raping a kid in the shower might possibly be a reason people are upset. Couple that with the fact that he continued to let the raper use the facility to rape tons more kids, and I think that might be what some are taking issue with. Just clarifying.

.U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan said he’s asking Education Secretary Arne Duncan to look into whether Penn State violated the Clery Act, which requires colleges and universities to prepare, publish and distribute an annual security report disclosing all criminal offenses reported to campus security or local police.
All alumni from Joe Pa's 61 years will be forced to burn their diplomas bc they hold no further value. School should be shut down imo.
Governor Corbett wasn't at the Trustee meeting tonight per ESPN. I'd be surprised if he announces Paterno is fired and the President is gone without being at the meeting, but who knows? He's obviously having a press conference for some reason.
The Clery Act requires all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to keep and disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses. Compliance is monitored by the United States Department of Education, which can impose civil penalties, up to $27,500 per violation, against institutions for each infraction and can suspend institutions from participating in federal student financial aid programs.
