Not really. Rape is much worse.
Come on, ukvols. This makes SMU look like a speeding violation in comparison. This easily surpasses it.

Agree. Its one thing to be doing a bunch of coke and paying players. Its another to violate underage children.
I gotta agree there. Child rape is a whole lot worse than paying players.
Oil money buying players or a man sodomizing young boys while the univ. and community simply and only 'take away his keys.' Sandusky was strolling around the PSU campus just last week prior to his arrest according to many reports. Everyone smiling as if nothing happened. Oh, happy days.

I don't want to turn this into a side-debate. I just don't want anyone to think that I believe the crimes at PSU aren't of a more serious nature than SMU.
I agree that child rape is more serious than paying players.
The reason I referred to SMU as a bigger sports scandal is because it went all the way up to the governor of the state, and SMU football has never been the same, even though that was the 1980s. For anyone who missed it, I was responding to another post. I didn't just chime in with SMU out of the blue.
PSU needs to do a major clean-up job and begin restoring their image. It's still a great school. There's no need to burn degrees. And, it's not like they're going to go two years without a football program. They'll get a new coach and enter a rebuilding phase.
I have no issues with anyone believing the PSU scandal is a bigger sports scandal. This debate isn't even important, really.
On the separate issue of PSU's game on Saturday, these people have been supporting that program and that coach for many years. It's easy for us on the outside to say JoePa must be pulled off the sideline.
I am as disgusted as everyone else by this whole situation at PSU, and this post is the last I'll say about SMU in this thread.
