Trap Game for Hogs

Cincy maybe Fla. this team thinks more about who they don`t have than playing hard with who they do have.

This. To the 1000th degree. As soon as Hunter went down, everyone was okay with the Florida game being a loss.. Excuses started. Then Bray and UT were playing pretty badly against Georgia, and he gets hurt. Excuses again. That game was lost before Bray went down.

There is no reason to fold the season the way UT has. Looking horrible at times. Quitting in the second half repeatedly.

It doesn't matter who you play or who you have out on the field, play hard and don't quit.

Excuses are becoming a regular thing on The Hill.

I live just outside little rock and yes, hog fans are totally confident they are going to roll right over us. Ive heard it all week. But let's be honest guys, why shouldn't they be confident? I do not see us being able to hang with this Arky team. Jake Becquet is going to be after Worley all night and our Oline is weak. We are going to have a hard time scoring. Our defense is going to have to contain Dennis Johnson and Joe Adams, and cover the hell out of jarius wright. They have so many weapons. And us, not so much. I want this win bad seeing as how my husband is a huge Hog fan and he has been talking smack the last year leading up to the game. I'm prepared for the worst though.

Arky fans are full of themselves these days. Predicting they'll roll all over the Vols.

The Hogs' SOS (strength of schedule) is 38, which is the lowest in the SEC (Sagarin) except for UK (53). Vols are 9th.

At 8-1, Arky's wins include: Troy, New Mexico, Missouri State, Texas AM (now 5-4), Vandy, Ole Miss, SCar w/out Lattimore. No Gators and No UGA on the Schedule.

They got smoked by the only good team they played -- Alabama 38-14. [Vols lost 37-6 and were tied 6-6 at half.]

The Hogs are bound to be looking past lowly UT and ahead to MSU and LSU to win the SEC-W.

I'm predicting an upset.

Stop....Please :eek:lol:

Worley, a true freshman in his third career start on the road against the #8 team in the country.....re-read that line over and over and see if you're still convinced we can pull an upset

Yep, it will be valuable experience for him though. That's the only positive I see there.

The stars, planets and UFO's are aligning themselves for a Vol win. Vols on a field goal.

Was with you whole-heartedly...who kicks the field goal to win? Brodus or Palardy or Rhome? May need more planets, stars, and UFOs LOL
I will be fine if you are correct....

Go Vols smoke some pig

I personally think Dooley should be allowed to attempt the game winning kick.

Any given Saturday boys!! I'm not saying we will win, but think we can. Of course we have to do things better than we have this year, but possible. If in some miraculous way our offense can pull off a couple pretty long drives in the 2nd half to keep the def fresh, it's possible. Now that would mean our run game has gotten better some how, but I think Worley can be more of a passing threat than Simms. AR will have to keep that in mind, and maybe the run game can have some good runs. Of course this means our RBs need to hit holes, no matter the size, hard and fast....(insert sorority girl joke here)....ha!

Arky 44, USCjr 28 w/o Lattimore

UT 3, USCjr 14 w/o Lattimore

Not looking good, based on that. :ermm:

When AR played Texas A&M, A&M was ranked 14th, and USC 8th. Both were beatdowns. Vandy and Ole Miss were on the road, and close wins. Too close.

The patsy teams were just that. Patsy teams - much like Montana, Buffalo, or Middle Tennessee. (Let's be honest about Tennessee's schedule too, since that's the meat of your debate.) Once Arkansas plays LSU, their SOS will go up several points.

Not playing UGA or Florida this season is irrelevant, but we do have some common opponents to measure by. Auburn beat Florida 17-6. Arkansas beat Auburn, 38-14.

UGA's only SEC loss was to South Carolina by 2 points, at home. Arkansas beat South Carolina, 42-28, in a game Arkansas could have scored 2 more times.

Since Tennessee lost to both Auburn and South Carolina (2 teams Arkansas dismantled), this Saturday should also be a good measuring stick as to how good both teams really are.

Now, onto Alabama. Brutal. The game was @ Bama and the Razorback's 1st SEC game of the season, and played at Alabama. Arkansas was down four starters including Jake Bequette - one of the best ends in the SEC. One thing we can look at, is that Tennessee managed only 2 field goals against Alabama, while Arkansas managed 2 touchdowns.

Finally, let's talk about the "full of themselves" Arkansas fans. I'm sorry you've been left with that impression. As does Tennessee, Arkansas has its share of big mouths. I suppose all SEC teams have a segment of fans like that.

But in all reality, until the fans actually play the game, their over-confidence, big-headedness, or fullness of themselves, really is irrelevant to how the team approaches the game.

Rest assured. The team will be focused, and they'll hardly be in the mood to entertain the idea of this being a "trap game" since dropping from 7th to 8th in the BCS - after beating another top ten SEC team badly.

From what I'm hearing from friends in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks are in a very bad mood over that, and they are looking to make a statement to the BCS pollsters on Saturday.

We'll just have to wait and see if they can make that statement.

I really, really, hope I'm wrong, but this game won't even be close.

1) It's a bad match up for us ... our D seems to be getting better, but we're not going to be able to handle the O of Arky.

2) If our D can't keep Arky from passing all over the park on us, then we would have to win a shootout, which we cannot.

I'm not a negavol ... just a realist ... but I do hope I'm really wrong, just not getting my hopes up.

But, that's why the teams play the game, and that's why we fans watch'em, cause you just never know.

The team better not be going in to this game thinking they aren't going to win, like many on here are doing. Otherwise, they are already beat before they even play the game. Anything can happen. Dooley is due one! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!

Did I miss something this season?
Suddenly I feel like Rip Van Winkle.
