dumbest theory ever. last time i checked, texas isn't having any trouble creating successful qb's. you can't assume simms would've been a lot better had he came to rocky top.
Please, lets not compare Peyton with Chrissy Sims. Peyton gladly accepted the challenge to play for the miserable Colts (before ya start I realize they had the #1 pick, thus a lot of money. Wait a minute didn't another QB refuse to play for the Colts?) while Chrissy backed out of his verbal commitment to Tennessee when he realized he might have some competition on the Hill. Apples and oranges folks.
Get credit for things completely unrelated to football? I'm not sure people relate that back to the program, but I assure you that the athletic department at UT has fielded some pretty tough questions about the transgressions of its players, especially those of Little.Leonard Little and Dwayne Goodrich went on to kill people after they left UT. Do the coaches get credit for that? Brandon Stewart went from highly rated prospect to complete afterthought at A&M. Why didn't Crapcliffe's brilliance rub off on him?
Oh, I thought you were applying it something else. Shuler being elected having something to do with the staff at UT, absolutely silly. That's my point. Heath Shuler being elected to the House and Little/Goodrich killing people are equally attributable to the staff at UT. Which is to say, not at all. The last time I checked, those guys are adults with free will.
I must say, I've seen a whole bunch of things that make me laugh around here. However, IE 95 trying to give David Crapcliffe credit for Heath Shuler being in Congress takes the prize. It wasn't 6 years of bad foreign policy by Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, et al. It was Crapcliffe teaching him how not to read complex defenses that carried ol no. 21 to Washington.
Then I guess the institution gets credit for the Little/Goodrich body counts? Your typical, lame homer reaction is about par for the course. Anyone who is objective about UT obviously hates the entire institution. I have contributed, both in time and other means, more to the University in the last 12 months than you will in your entire existence. Now, go back to trying to concoct ludicrous scenarios to fluff up a medicore coaching staff that has led the Vols to the moribund level where the program currently resides.
UT is the flagship institution in the state. It does a tremendous job of providing a quality education at an affordable price for the residents of the state. The current administration is doing a good job of elevating standards and slowly improving the academic facilities. I have great affection for the University that provided me with two degrees that have afforded me the opportunity and ability to earn a quality living. In fact, the only real problems I see at UT now are a semicompetent football coaching staff and the homers who continue to live in the increasingly distant past in a pathetic attempt to prop up King Fulamanure and His Court of Jesters.

Its a team sport, rarely can one player win a game by himself. No doubt if Manning had been drafted by the Patriots instead of the colts he would have won more already.
Same is true for Marino if he had been playing for the Niners instead of the Dolphins. Elway won Super Bowls at the end of his career when Denver was mainly a running team, and he had lost velocity on his throws. That was not his prime.
In theory if we lost CPF and got a capable coach with energy, he could do more with talent but would we not lose the ability to recruit top 5 classes every year?UT is the flagship institution in the state. True, I am on a fense on CPF but I give credit when its due and I say its one hell of a recruiting job, thanks CPF:thumbsup:that's the "dilemma". it's a matter of finding a coach who can get the needed recruits to UT and get them motivated to play. and to have the offensive and defensive schemes to compete better against the likes of Florida.
