Pooch, what do you think about me joining the guard, going to basic all summer, skipping the fall semester and doing job training. Starting back in the spring doing rotc?

Man, sounds like you're trying to help your parents and help in the defense of our country (I do qualify as one of the most pro-milirary commie liberals around), so I can find nothing to question with your plan.

Yeah I mean I will get like 10-12 credit hours for job training and basic so missing one semester won't really put me off track. Missing a whole summer of fun will stink though.

Exactly. Plus ill get roughly 7500 after taxes for basic and job training. Then once I start rotc, ill get gi bill of 337 a month, 350 rotc pay a month, and 250 drill pay a month. Not too shabby.
