What are your favorite memories of the Tennessee-Alabama series? If I had to pick only one, it would be the 1969 game. Tennessee amassed a 34-0 lead before eventually winning by a 41-14 margin. Steve Kiner essentially won his All-American stripes on that day as he recorded “five sacks, 11 tackles with five assists, four quarterback hurries, an interception and a forced fumble” (University of Tennessee Athletics: Football). As he came off the field, Kiner admonished the Tide players with words to this effect: “Look at that old man [Bear Bryant]. He looks pitiful. There was a time when those crimson jerseys meant something

Lying in a cool bath with a 105 degree fever when I was 12 years old in 1982 and listening to John Ward during the fourth quarter of the first Vol win of my lifetime. I thought it was impossible to beat Alabama. I felt so awful and yet it might be the most absolute, pure untainted joy I've ever felt in my whole life.

After losing eleven straight games (1971-81), the ’82 victory definitely signified the lifting of an insufferable burden from our shoulders. Nobody before or since had dominated the SEC as thoroughly as Alabama’s wishbone did in the ‘70s. The only solace we can take from that drought is the fact that nobody else in the conference was beating the Bear with any regularity either.

Watching the '95 game with my father is something I'll always remember. Also, I'll always remember the 2003 game. I had to listen to Blob on the radio, as me and my now fiance had gone on one of our first dates.

41-14 that is the classic beat down score...it was same score as the 1995 game whe UT finally broke the unwining streak

My favorite was being at Bama for the game that would not end in 2003. It was such a rollercoaster of emotions.

Yes, 27 points is the largest margin of victory by which we have defeated the Tide. 1970 was also an awfully good memory. We shut them out, 24-0, and, if memory serves me correctly, intercepted eight Alabama passes in the process. Jackie Walker succeeded Steve Kiner as an All-American linebacker. “In 1970, Tennessee's daunting defense collected 36 interceptions for a seemingly untouchable school record. Walker led the Vols with 82 tackles and 42 assists.

He finished his career with 11 interceptions, more than anyone who wasn't a defensive back during his time. He returned those picks for 281 yards and a then-NCAA record five touchdowns. The 281 interception return yards ranked fourth at the time on Tennessee's all-time chart behind three defensive backs - all his teammates” (University of Tennessee Athletics: Football).

1982--ending the streak...
1983--Johnny Jones' run....

1984--we score 15 points in the 4th QTR--Andre Creamer's punt return right at me and my dad--who wanted to leave, but I wouldn't go...T. Robinson's 2 point play to win the game...

1985--Dale Jones' INT of Shula's pass to preserve game...

1995--Manning to Kent...Graham's TD run...

1996--Graham's TD run....

Casey Clausen's 4th and 19 OT pass that enabled us to go on and win the game..was that 2003?

Forgot what year, but L Little's destruction of Alabama QB...

2009--E Berry's hit on Bama's #4...

Great list. I believe you're right about Clausen's fourth down pass to Banks. I remember it being 2003.

For me, it was being at the '82 win over the Bear during my sophomore year at UT.....specifically, watching Chuck Coleman raise his hand and point towards the section I was sitting in on his late go-ahead touchdown run. Undoubtedly, the most fun I've ever had at a football game.

Oops. Not sure why I thought It was Banks. My memory must be getting fuzzy in old age. Thanks for the correction.

The only reason I remember is because I distinctly remember telling my girlfriend to be quiet so I could listen to Blob call that play.

I do remember Banks having a huge game. He was a beast that day.

That was an exciting game.

2001. Multiple 1st round draft picks on the field for us. Multiple draft picks on the field period (for us). Canned Bama just like we should. The last time we really hammered them like we need to. Everybody on offense had big plays that day. To many to name. Buck Fama. V,B!

Joey Kent takes it to the house on the first offensive play in 1995. Our seats we're in the endzone and it looked like he was running right to us.
