Huh? i guess you don't remember Nilo Silvan or Erick Locke.......Dale CArter ring a bell?

the difference between now and then, is that the media exposure to every little thing that happens is much, much greater today than it ever has been in the past.........the same things that we read about every other day now, were happeing back then too....just back then it wasn't as newsworthy as it is today. it's harder manage it now, but the issues are the same.

That's a fact. :eek:k:

How many HCs from Historically Black Colleges such as Howard have moved up to major programs or the NFL?

He made the best choice because he probably would have gotten lost at Howard and not found his way out

i'm just saying if he was offered he would have been gone.

I dont think that Trooper would have taken the job if it was offered. The howard job is not a stepping stone to other jobs. It would have been a very bad career move. More exposure in the SEC.....

Howard was reportedly offering between $200,000 and $230,000 a year for the position. Troopers present salary $138,850 a year. That's not really close to double and a far far far cry from triple. Troopers contract is up for negotiation after next year and he will almost certainly receive a pay increase then.

Factor in cost of living, and that ain't even a raise.

I would rather make 230K then 139K. Anyone who is saying otherwise is lying. Thats almost a 100K pay raise.

I think Cutcliffe makes around 250K or 300K. No way does Trooper get paid as much as Cutcliffe or Chavis.

It may be a dead end job, but there have been coaches, Cutcliffe for instances, who came up from the the high school level.

The pay raise would be a wash, I'm not kidding. I live in the DC area and can tell you how expensive homes are here. If you don't believe me, google "cost of living calculator" and run the numbers yourself. The first one that I found said that 139K in knoxvegas was equal to 218K in DC area. So, the pay raise really was (or should have been) a non-factor.
