Love it!! Go Vols!!!!

This is gonna be my 8th time seeing them. I convinced my whole family to go: Mom, Dad, my fiancee, my brother and his lady are all going to see them. I'm beyond excited. Although Newt, I'm pretty jealous you saw them at Red Rocks. There aren't many things in this world that could top that show, except maybe signing Danny O'Brien.

Awesome. One of the best true bands out there today.. it is too bad they do not get the fair shake they deserve. What is your favorite AB album?

FWIW Josh Helmholdt of Rivals said he still likes Tennessees chances w/ Obrien tomorrow.

Just more confirmation.

It still amazes me how tough it's been for UT to get DL talent here...I mean any stud DT could practically walk in and see playing time. Sure, they might not be starters their freshman year, but wow. The opportunity is here to play early.

NCAA investigations can do that.

jmoore do you think this finish is possible.

DL- O'Brien, Autry, Hamilton, Shanks
TE- Meredith
WR- Patterson

then a few others if we have room.

Not necessarily about O'Brien, but...

Going off what OCI said about this being a good week and my own personal belief, I think the staff feels really good about our chances against Georgia. Why else would we have so many visits this week? Kinda like the Ole Miss game, last year.

Mcouch, JSmith, JWilliams, MWalls, CMiller are all soph or under and were highly recruited DL

Saulsberry and Carson could be good and are really young

Hood came out of nowhere but seems to have talent and is a soph too

depth is no longer a huge concern like a year or 2 ago - especially if we end up signing Djacobs and Ttaylor

we havent done as bad as you might think recently with DL

just because we have bodies doesn't mean we have depth..compare that dline roster to that of any legit SEC team...simply listing our roster doesn't make it sound better. We need quality dline in this class

The fact is that even though our line is better than it has been recently, it still is bad compared to the other SEC teams like USCe and UF. You build teams around the linemen and we need a lot more talent on the line to become a first tier team in the SEC again

What would be worse?

a. Losing O'Brien.

b. Losing to UGA.

I would much rather lose O'Brien than lose to UGA this week, but am I being short-sighted?

I just don't think we are far at all from UF or USCe - i would get it if you were comparing us to bama or LSU - but we are not far from UF or usce - we are actually ahead of usce at this point in rushing defense which is a great way to measure DL quality

we'll see at the end of the year how much separation there is between the vols and these two - i dont see too much at all

Yeah, I agree with you when you say we have some depth now. Depth is great, but we don't really have a impact DT that makes the other team gameplan for them. I hope MCouch can develop into one though.

UF has Powell and Floyd. Both of those players are freshman and already making an impact.

USCe has Clowney and Ingram who are both having great seasons so far.

UT doesn't have a player quite on their level at this point yet imo.

+1. There just isn't a dominate big-time DT on the roster. There is some decent talent now but no difference maker at DT yet.
