Yeah, the fans care so much about the Lady Vols that the FM flagship station of the Vol Network doesn't carry their games. Once you get past the freeloaders/cheapskates and frontrunners, the support for the Lady Vols is no better than what the baseball team gets. It is a niche sport, nothing more.speak for yourself. Of course they would care.
You do know that wrestling is fake don't you? Why doesn't ESPN and all the other major networks show wrestling instead of women's basketball? When over a million people pay $40 bucks to watch a Lady Vol game on Pay Per view, your point will be relevant. Also, call me when women's basketball is the highest rated weekly show on cable.
Compare USA network's ratings for RAW to to the miniscule numbers ESPN draws for phony basketball. NBC does multiple WWE shows in the place of Saturday Night Live in various points in the year. I bet the boys in Bristol would much rather have the rights to Vince McMahon's product instead of the dreck Pat Summit oversees. The WWE actually draws ratings. Phony basketball is lucky to outdraw community access documentaries on street paving. You do know that wrestling is fake don't you? Why doesn't ESPN and all the other major networks show wrestling instead of women's basketball?
So you don't think that over 1 million people tune in to the Tennessee / UConn game? Or Tennessee and Duke? I'd actually be interested to see how many people actually do claim to watch women's basketball now. Where could one find that information?Compare USA network's ratings for RAW to to the miniscule numbers ESPN draws for phony basketball. Two things: 1. I bet nobody paid $40 bucks to watch those games on TV. 2. I would guess that the Nielsen ratings would have a website that lists ratings for all programs. So you don't think that over 1 million people tune in to the Tennessee / UConn game? Also, USA is the highest rated network on cable. Raw is consistently one of the top rated shows on cable. If phony basketball drew more than poker reruns, the sports networks would show a lot more of it.So you don't think that over 1 million people tune in to the Tennessee / UConn game? I would think that nobody $40 dollars to watch a good women's matchup because there is enough interest to put it on a major channel in a primetime spot. Two things: 1. I bet nobody paid $40 bucks to watch those games on TV.
SNL is awful. I remember the days of Farley, Norm MacDonald (the best weekend update guy ever), Sandler, Farrel, Chris Kattan, Haracio Sans, and my favorite SNL actor ever Tracey Morgan.
I think it went downhill before Ferrell even came into the picture. I long for the days of Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Martin Short etc etc etc..it went downhill after Will Ferrell left.
what's the difference between ESPN selling advertising during one of their games and the WWE selling a PPV for $40 a pop without ads?
it's not already dead? i don't seem to ever see it on TV anymore.
