It's cool...ESPN would be more forgiving if Bruce were out choking people, throwing chairs around, and drunk driving. They'd even say these immoral, violent, and dangerous people deserve to be in the hall of fame, and even respected.

However, for a coach to paint his chest...dear God. There's no place in bball for that!
 well said.

Sigh...

To begin with, college football is played by 18-23 year olds, not so NFL. But of course women and men of same age play college bball.

Second, and more important, there is a long, long tradition of college football. Not so much women's college basketball.

Now, at the same time, I'll tell you that I wathc women's gymnastics, but not men's. Why? In large part tradition. I admit that.

I am not sure that makes me sexist. It might. Will have to dwell on that a bit ....
Once again, I agree. This is really starting to bother me.:p

Sigh.... my ass.

You're the one that tried to argue women's basketball is not competitve because the worst men's team would beat the best women's team. It is completely apples and oranges. The scenario you described has nothing to do with whether women's basketball is competitive.

And of course women are not men. You do realize this being a Gator?

Yes... but that has more to do with the fact ESPN hates Tennessee than it does the actual act.

Seriously, they are? That is ridiculous. He is clearly just being supportive of the athletic department as a whole.

I say good for him.

As to my other comments, lookit, I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like. And given the absolutely miserable ratings for women's college basketball I feel that I am in the majority. and I'm thinking its like 90-10.

I have no idea what they're saying about it, I just wanted to be the first to say ESPN hates UT in this thread.

The PTI guys usually get a kick out of Pearl, I bet they'll mention it tomorrow.

We can end it. I was never arguing that women's basketball was exciting. I just thought your argument that women's basketball was not competitve because the men could beat the women, was meaningless. It is really apples and oranges.

Oh, okay. Yeah, in a sense we are saying the same thing. But just totally different.

No, the Boys in Bristol are ripping Pearl because it was ridiculous.
That is the way he wants to do his job and live his life. The university will take care of the job part. If he just wanted to have fun... then why the hell not? He just got about 20-30 recruits for the next year or two to seriously consider playing for this program because the coach is FUN!
