Lofton Injury...

I do know from having an ankle injury playing basketball that they hurt like hell and take weeks to get over.

You can play through ankle injuries. I played almost every game of my senior season in high school with a screwed up ankle. With enough support, you're good to go. Use the off-season to heal up.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal...im predicting him to miss the ole miss game and then play (with some pain) in the UK game...there's no way lofton will miss that kentucky game.

That's what I've been thinking. He will play against UK if at all possible. I heard that he was sick the day of a high school playoff game. He went to school and sat in the office until he was legally present so that he could play that night and then went to a hospital to receive fluids. He played, and they won.

i hoping for the best, but after seeing the replay i think that means it was a sprain and lofton will miss at least 2 weeks. if thats it he would be able to get him back the first week of feb. when we play at fla. and lsu. but i am definately not jumping to any conclusions.

I have been thinking 2 weeks as well, but I'm not putting it past Lofton to be ready sooner. This is, of course, provided that it is indeed a sprain and nothing more. I hope he wears ActiveAnkles next time!

Ah, you guys....

No, I'm not a doctor, but my background is in exercise science. That basically means full courseloads in kinesiology, anatomy and physiology, and so on. I don't have the in-depth knowledge of, say, disease processes or microbiology that a doctor would, but I know my structural and muscular systems.

Thanks for your injury explanation. While my degrees are not as yours, I could still understand your well written post. It was appreciated.

Thx!

Lofton, who leads the SEC in scoring at 22.5 points a game, sprained his right ankle early in the second half after scoring only four points. Pearl said Lofton's injury would have to be evaluated further on Sunday after the swelling goes down.

Thats the only thing I found so far.

Yeah, we will have an interesting season if he is done.

The glass is half full, he'll rub some dirt on it and be back in a week.

If he is able to continue to play, I guess they will be doctoring him up before and after the games with heat, ice, tape, massage, and anything else they can give him for pain. I'm sure he doesn't want to be sittting on the bench watching his team play.

If Lofton is out for a while, or, gasp...the rest of the year, Chism and Crews must be on the floor at the same time, period.

tabb. passley. wilde.

i think it will be okay if lofton is out against ole miss. but we deifnately need him back for UK on the road. Tabb is a great defender, but he can't score...neither can passley. I think the offensive will be struggling a lot if lofton is out...jajuan smith will have to step up his game.

tabb is a decent shooter but he only takes maybe a max of 2 shots a game. Sometimes he hits a 3.

Our rotation now is:
Howell
Ramar
Jujuan
Bradshaw
Crews
Chism
Tabb
Childress
Passley

I think we either start now with Chism and Crews on the floor with Bradshaw at the 3, Jujuan at the 2, and Ramar/Howell at the 1 or we have Howell at the 1, Ramar/Jujuan at the 2, Ramar/Jujuan at the 3, Bradshaw at the 4, and Crews at the 5.
