Muschamp's Behavior (merged)

He's the angry fat boy. You'd see his belly just sloshing around in that polo shirt and the sweat just pouring off of it. Gross.

I can tell I'm not going to like him. You had the Spurrier hate, which came in part because he whipped Tennessee over and over again and was intentionally and playfully provacative, but he kept his cool. Meyer was completely cool. Mushchamp? It's like the sweathog who had too much to drink for the Little League game and runs out on the field to protest a call. It's just out of place and not becoming.

When rival fans like your coach, usually that's not a good thing.

If you've followed Muschamp at all throughout his career, he's always been animated on the sidelines. Doesn't bother me a bit. If the refs had any sack at all they would have flagged him for unsportsmanlike behavior...problem solved.

As for Muschamp's behavior affecting recruiting, go check out the class he's putting together for 2012.

Funny, I was just thinking yesterday as I was watching the game and Muschamp's behavior how glad I was he went to FL.

I admire intensity and I think he injected some into Florida but he really made himself look like a clown yesterday.

I don't mind our coach getting a little steamed, unless his temper overcomes perception and judgment. The thing is that Muschamp looked way out of control at the half, and that's after his DBs appeared coached to play dirty. I really think the guy has problems.

I agree that it is ok to get upset and angry too. Everybody does. But your overall personification must be one that exemplifies the typical reactions and valor of the players and school one is representing. I still believe there is something to being honorable, even in the game of football.

He kinda reminds me of another tool that once coached for UT.......Kiffin.....Act like youve been there... even if you havent will ya?

Different entirely. Kiffin was a child that spoke before he thought. His antics on the field were never comparable to what happened yesterday. It was the post game conferences that we all held our breath. Muschamp...I don't know how to describe him. His antics were unbecoming of a head coach. My dad is a ref and he agreed that Muschamp should have got a warning when he was in the face of the official in the first half and tossed after that half time debacle.

Edit: The biggest thing that Kiffin did during a game that annoyed me was not shaking Frank Beamer's hand

I don't expect to like rival coaches, but I do think you should be able to respect them. I have no respect for Muschamp's halftime antics.

I don't mind animation on the sideline, but when you run across the field to chase down the refs and verbally abuse them while being physically restrained, that goes beyond animation. The refs should have sacked up and flagged him. Of course if they had, there would have been a riot in the swamp.

Muschamp showed no respect for the authority of the refs or the sanctity of the game whatsoever. Reminded me of a former coach here at UT every one warned us about. Of course, we didn't listen either. Funny how criticizing the officiating at the press conference can get you in trouble, but actions like Muschamp's will probably be ignored by Slive and the SEC office. I find what your coach did much more agregious.

The gators will always be able to recruit. Of course, Kiffin and co. were well thought of recruiters themselves. I doubt this hurts gator recruiting in any way, but it doesn't make his behavior any more appropriate.

You taking up for a gator fan is disappointing.
It's got nothing to do with taking up for a gator fan - just saying he did not get thrown to the ground. He lost his balance and fell and YES, it was pass interference.

Grow up.

By and large I think UT fans will always find a reason to like or dislike the head football coach at UF.

Spurrier rubbed it in Fulmer's face, Meyer had a smugness about him, and Muschamp is a raving lunatic at times on the sideline. UT fans have little love for any of those guys.

Zook used to get pretty animated too, but for some reason UT fans were okay with him.

What's the common denominator? Pretty obvious if you ask me.

You sound like a Vol fan defending Kiffin's antics.

This has nothing to do with me being a Vol fan. It has everything to do with your coach charging across the field to confront the refs. He had to be physically restrained. The SEC office should take action and fine his ass and give him a letter of reprimand. Muschamp stepped over a line.

I'm not wearing my orange-colored glasses. I'm calling it as I see it. His actions were unprofessional. It doesn't matter to me it was the gator's coach. It doesn't matter to me that he did it in a game against the Vols. The reason it's being discussed on this site is because it was the gator's coach and it was against the Vols, but if this had happenned in another game, my feelings would be no different. He went too far and deserves a reprimand. He's the damn coach. Like it or not, he sets an example, not only to his players but to fans of all ages. Last time I was in the swamp, I was cursed out by an 8 year old. Is that the type of behavior your fanbase wants to represent?

Muschamp may or may not be a great coach for you. Only time will tell. But you shouldn't excuse his actions just because he's your coach. I'm not calling for his head. I'm not making excuses for losing. This isn't sour grapes over the game. He was wrong. Period. It's that simple. He was wrong. If you can't see that, then you're guilty of what you're accussing me of, homerism.
