How much an hour? Just beats my hourly wage.:)

$456.62 every single hour for the next 8 years. $7.62 every single minute for the next 8 years. 12 and a half cents every single second for the next 8 years. And 24 - 0 against you, Auburn and LSU for the next 8 years. Now that's money well spent!:)

Nice work, but that not enough to beat the Vols. Our great comeback againts LSU was when Saban was there correct? That was LSU at there house.:dance2:

What is gonna be scary for us Bama fans is that if we don't win, we will have nobody to blame. We feel that we have the best coach so if he can't win, dare I say, we will just plain old suck.

I don't understand Fulmer's low rating on "Ability to motivate" because one of his teams best attributes is playing well as the underdog. I suppose it works both ways and you can say he has problems motivating his team in the games that they are suppose to win. But, in underdog situations Fulmer certainly motivates his teams to play all out.

To me its like watching Pearl on the sidelines and he is yelling and involved, watch CPF on the side so who do you think is a motivator out of those two.

You think Phil should move along? What direction should we then move? I don't mean a lateral move but an upgrade.

No, I think CPF should stay. My score is reflective of his performance this past season. It would have been much lower if taken this time last year. I expect his score on these questions to be refelctive of the season. Next year I expect a better season - and a better score.

5. his little golf clap after going 3 and out gets old
6. doesn't seem like half time adjustments are ever made, and if they are, they hardly ever work
7. the way he pounded on Cal was never repeated
8. he has to get by UF to have a chance, and it's hard to see that happening any time soon

5. I have seen phil very mad - when he needs to be. A three and out doesn't require going bezerk on the sidelines. During the game he tempers his emotions and I think that is good - but while he's clapping he is usually biting a hole in his lip. And you can bet his players see that.
6. Ahhh, how soon we forget Georgia.
7. see above.
8. I agree - he needs to be competitive with FL (like he has been). I predict we win next year, easily.

so what happens if next year mirrors this season?

Tough question. He will enter "hot seat" status. No raises, extentions, etc.

I really, really hate considering that scenario. It kills the staff and recruiting. But it is what it is.

do you really think that the demeanor on the sidelines is the sign of a good coach? Jim Tressell...stoic in nature. good coach. Bill Walsh...cool as a cucumber...good coach. John L. Smith...as animated a coach as you'll find....terrible coach.

too much gets placed on sideline demeanor. what works is what works, and it generally fits the overall personality of the guy holding the clipboard. being firey, excitable etc..works for guys like bobby knight and steve spurrier...it doesn't for others. it is not a measuring stick however.

so what happens if next year mirrors this season?
i have a feeling we're going to find out.

It doesn't take a lot to motivate when your getting disrespected. I'm sure a:

"show 'em what the hell your made of because they're doubting your ability"

..would be enough to get any D-1 football player with a pulse up and ready to crack heads. I think the Bowl games really bring down peoples opinion in the subject. More specifically Maryland, Clemson, Penn State.

My above post got me thinking. If I were a guy like Kirk Herbstreit I would always down Tennessee on TV. I would hammer them, tell them they have no chance, things along those lines.

They have something to get riled up about. They I would silently pump my fist offset. Unlike Herbstreit which really showed his true colors this year and had to eat some humble pie.

I did the scores seperately and am very happy with the overall score. I view Phil's job as a head coach overall at about 75-80% so this worked out about right. If you seperated players and fans I would give the players a score of 9.5 and the fans a score of 7. A lot of the fans just don't see the things the players do, and they(the players) have a completely different view on things than the average fan.

I've been on the fence regarding Fulmer over the past few years, and starting to slip off onto the negative side... but I'm still clinging on for dear life because I really like the guy.

1.overall performance for tenure- 8
2.Control of team-I have limited info but with all the off the field problems - 6
3.Ability to motivate - 5
4.Recruiting - 9
5.sideline presence - 4
6.Making halftime or any other adjustments - 6
7.Aggressiveness - 5
8.Chances of Bringing us a NC within 5 years - 3

Lower than I would have guessed for myself...

1. National Title and 2 SEC titles plus 77% winning percentage is still good... when looking at the career. Unfortunately the success was just front loaded.
2. We have issues, but Fulmer generally does a good job of dealing with them and the PR.
3. We win some "against all odds" games, but we play so lackluster in others...
4. Great recruiter, can't be denied.
5. Mediocre at best... but I can appreciate someone more reserved than a Saban or other spastic jerks. e does not have a commanding presence or exude the "leader of men" type persona.
6. Kinda ho-hum, I can think of instances where we do make good adjustments, but many where we don't.
7. Shown in flashes; i.e. starting 2 FR QBs in '04 and some gutsy 4th down conversion calls... but nt enough, he doesn't realize it takes aggressiveness to win in this day and age.
8. Hate to admit it, I just don't have much faith us this happening... but there is a slim shot.
9. With the talent we're accumulating, the we might get a perfect storm like we did in '98. However, having Saban, Richt, Spurrier and Meyer on the schedule every year is daunting at best.
10. He gets respect, but more from past achievements and love of the University, Program and State than for his recent accomplishments.

I think its safe to say many of the ranking are clouded by the past 5 years (when I see us falling from a top 5-10 program to a ~top 25 program), but this further illustrates the effect of the current downward trend.
