that is exactly what is happening. The SEC is waiting until A&M publicly announces they are leaving the Big12. At which point A&M will ask for the invite to the SEC along with the Pac12, B1G, and ACC.

A&M BOR meeting just ended about 5 min ago. The BOR gave President Loftin the power to leave the Big12 and apply to any conference. The meeting with the Texas Board of Higher Education was cancelled for tomorrow. That should be the end of the end state pressure. A&M's next move is to announce it is leaving the Big12. Which should happen within the next few days, if not today.

You guys would be way more competitive in the PAC-12. Not trying to be an ass here but here is what Texas a&m has done recently vs the SEC....

Haven't beaten an SEC team since 1995.
why would you guys be so happy to become mediocre? Heck if you guys come to the SEC, best of luck, you will need it.

I think there are better teams than A & M to pull in, like say Duke and North Carolina and possibly Louisville. We would have the best rivalries in basketball with Kent-Louisville and Duke-NC, and of course the best football in college sports.

A lot or smack towards a program that has fared just as well as we have in recent years. And before you point to our run in the 90's, A&M had a pretty decent run as well (the only difference was 98).

For someone who's been as good as us recently, they sure had a 77-0 loss to Oklahoma, and we kinda crushed them in the Cotton Bowl.

I'll certainly give you last year and this year, but not much beyond that.

tend to agree with this. tradition, bowl games, and championships wise, a&m is a middle of the pack team whereas UT is top 10

If Texas A&M gets added to the SEC it will become my life's goal to somehow get Slive fired

I don't want A&M, or any team, added to the SEC; I like it the way it is. But if you can't see why the SEC Commissioner would be interested in adding them then there's not much hope for you. Forgot their sports programs, that is not the only criteria that is considered, and if you think it is then that's sad.

Adding A&M would:
Bring a huge TV market to the SEC. Texas is the second most populated state in the country, and Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston are all over 1 million a piece.
Add a good academic school. A&M would probably only be second to Vanderbilt.
Trigger a renegotiation of the SEC's TV contract. If they add a new team then their is a stipulation within the contract stating they have the right to renegotiate. Their contact was good when it was signed, but the PAC12 and (I believe) BIG10 currently make more money per school.

That's just 3 quick options of why adding A&M is seriously a consideration, though I hope they aren't added for a number of reasons

Sounds like Santos and the Van defense are having a field day. Their opponent has negative yardage at halftime.

Bill Bryne is tellings players that A&M will be in the SEC in a week or two.
