No story up yet just this that keeps popping up on the espn ticker...

Gottlieb: Source confirms #TexasAM to join #SEC; #Clemson, #FloridaSt, #Missouri also likely to join.

I dont care what Dalton told Austin, recruits tell people what they want to hear. The fact he has made contact with A&M about this tells you all you need to know.

I really, really don't want all these teams to join. I'd be OK with Mizzou and aTm, but not FSU and Clemson.

Still think we get Santos cuz he did not have to commit. He must have wanted to. But, the Aggies in the league will keep LSU out of Houston and Dallas. But everyone thought Arkansas and South Carolina would benefit from joining, and they haven't on the field. All speculation at this point. Can we vote out Vandy? That would be super cool!

We need to keep Vandy to keep the SEC GPA from bottoming out. But maybe we can trade them for Duke.

I doubt very seriously this gives us a significant advantage in the state of Texas, at least not right away. The expanded TV market might help down the road.

I can't help but think that if the kid loves a&m so much, he would have committed to them the first or second time he made a verbal commitment. GO VOLS!

Thats why I said better. Not "significant advantage." Two different things. It can't hurt us any more than what we are doing now. So to me it could only get better when the small 12 is gone.

You probably believed all last year that AJ was going to end up at UF

And where does it say he made contact with them? I've followed this recruitment closely and haven't seen anything about that

This move helps A&M tons more than any team in SEC. ESPN anchor said the same thing that I said earlier today. Texas players that don't want to leave home state can still play in the SEC now. IMO this will hurt most other SEC teams recruiting in TX the next couple years. It really depends on how successful A&M is in SEC. But with the expanded TV coverage the top SEC teams should able to pull more TX recruits in the near future.

Mr Slive....Please don't let FSU join the SEC!! Double up in TX with TTU or get MO. FSU and Clemson do not bring in new markets. :unsure:

I could be wrong, but not a ton of talent escapes TX. Sure there are some here and there, but by and large, a lot of that talent stays in TX or goes to OU. Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't follow TX recruiting too closely.

I think you are correct. I know from our perspective, we haven't had a lot of success in Texas. It's pretty sad when Nick Stephens is the one from the state who stands out in my mind.

There was this one guy that played recently. I think he may have been drafted by the Raiders. He wasn't bad if I remember correctly.
