Without getting into how the SEC would be divided...Getting into the Dallas/Ft. Worth TV market is the driving force for the SEC in this. As for recruiting, something that isin't being mentioned is who will Texas play if they go independent? Notre Dame has a tradition with the Big Ten schools and the Big East, because of the other sports. What does Texas have? The conference hates them, A&M, OU, Tech, none of them feel the need to keep their rivalries alive if it means playing ball with LHN/Espn.
In the short term Texas will be fine, long term is a different story. If the the SEC gets into Texas and Texas ends up like Notre Dame the last 10 years or so, well, they'll be plenty of kids like Santos that prefer the SEC brand.
