This guy and his crazy attitude is what we've been missing. Santos, IMO, is the most important recruit in the '12 class. I just hope he stays committed to UT.

I worry that this guy is solid until he blows up like a Michael Taylor. Hope he stays committed but I feel another Michael Taylor or JC Copeland type situation here.

He had offers from UT, Bama, Oklahoma, Ok St, and aTm. I read on VQ that Texas was starting to show some interest late (TIFWIW). Not sure he could get much bigger offers. He is rated the #1 ILB by ESPN. He's not a sleeper recruit. Rivals is just behind the curve on him, IMO.

Agreed. This kid can blow up anymore than he already has. I actually heard the same thing about him and Texas, think it was on TexAgs. Rivals is afraid he is getting too big for the position and doesn't like his mobility. But he's a Mike all the way and needs to be able to play tackle-to-tackle. He can work on coverage, agility, and improved mobility once he gets here.

Favorite recruit. Beast.

Thanks for that info, do you think he sticks? Texas does use the jedi mind trick on recruits to stay in state or at least Oklahoma will get the best scraps left over. I feel if we compete with at least 8 wins, SEC east champs is a legitmate prediction in 2012 and the influx of recruits will pour in.

Not O&W, but I personally think he sticks. He loves the SEC, obviously, and he really likes Sirmon and Dooley, especially Sirmon. Texas already has 3 LBs commited, two of which are 4*s. They got the one they really wanted. Jinkens. Oklahoma was never really in the battle, IMO.

Thank you guys for calming the nerves! A great sized LB (Chris Donald) is a gift but a talented gret sized LB is major must keep!

Yeah the kid wanted to play in the SEC. That's what it really came down to. He didn't see himself playing in the Big 12 with all the spread offenses. He would have been dropping into coverage more than he cared to. I'm with Lynx, I'm thrilled we got him ATP.

Settle down Bevis. His parents said they would move with him if need be. No reason to stress over thinking that.

Edit: RIVALS!!!

He is already blown up. #1 MLB according to our friends @ ESPN, and ranked high on all services, even Rivaks where they nitpick his weight.

From everything I have read here and all the film clips, I believe Santos may be the 2nd coming of Hacksaw Reynolds -- borderline crazy with a really "bad" attitude on the field.

If you have ever coached any you know that attitude good or bad can spread around the team. Santos seems to have that punch'em in the mouth type attitude. Let's hope this cat can bring the Wilson and Little type attitude to the defensive side of the team.

This guy will hopefully be good but I think people are getting a little out of hand comparing him to Al Wilson. C'mon Son
