'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Yea Mo Collins obviously has no interest in where DJ goes, what are we thinking... He just wanted to take DJ to FNL after he cancelled because he enjoys the drive.

His father had to work so why not offer if DJ wanted to attend? No way Mr/Mrs. Humphries allow their son to pick UF because of Mo. Handlers/mentors only get to "push" these kids a certain way when parents aren't part of the process. Funny, a few months ago UT fans talked about DJ having family who worked at UT and it would help UT. Now its Mo's fault he's not picking UT! :crazy: but :eek:k:

Don't bring things such as logic into the discussion. Obviously the guy is scum since he is trying to get DJ to be a Gator. :eek:lol:

I have no problem with a parent or mentor pushing a kid in the direction they think is best for the kid. The problem I have is when it is in the parent or mentor's best inter$t which I don't believe to be the case here.

Fault? Why are you guys using words like fault and blame? I've seen no one "blaming" anyone. Just because someone gave credit to Collins for reeling in DJ? Collins deserves major credit he's a hell of a recruiter, IMO.

Easy Baez. I didn't say I have a problem with it, no need to go in to super defense mode. It's just pretty obvious, and was talked about through this entire thread, not just now that it seems he's going to be a gata. Calm down.

Interesting that so many now want to downplay Collins influence when early on it was the reason for their optimism. Now that DJ has chosen UF, they'd have us believe Collins role was insignificant, really it was just UF's natural superiority that won out.

Obviously Collins was the difference here. That's not sour grapes, its just the truth. It doesn't matter one way or the other, DJ's a gator. Good luck to him.
================================

No way he goes where they're not sure which offense they'll run -- Pro Set or Spread.

They say they're running the Pro Set, but they haven't tried it since the 80s. Chances are, they'll be back to a Spread by half time of the UT game.

Maybe I missed it but, can you point out who is calling Collins scum? Or accusing him of wrong doing? All I've seen is people giving him the credit he deserves. seriously.

seriously?? calm down. No one said it was Mo's "fault" just correcting your twisted assertion that Mo had little influence in DJ's decision. I understand your desire to feel as if UF won out b/c it is superior to UT, has a "need" for OL, etc. and yes, the recruiting victory might seem a bit tarnished if you admit that you had an upper-hand with Mo Collins being a trainer, but why is that a bad thing? As i said earlier, Mo Collins was a graduate that still reps his alma mater. In recruiting you do whatever it takes to win. The end. UF is getting the #1 OL in the nation b/c of that. So take it.

and you are just flat out mistaken in saying that handlers/mentors only have an impact when parents aren't part of the process. Not only does this statement paint in incredibly large brushes, but runs counter to the new, business-like model that recruiting has become the last 5-10 years.

Will his announcement be televised? I know there will be tons of coverage from paysites so you'd think there would be a live feed somewhere.

It would be funny as hell if he announced that he is torn and is delaying his announcement

Dont bring things such as accuracy to the discussion. It ruins an otherwise logical point, right?

Where did we say he was scum? And where did we give him credit, which HG apparently doesn't feel obligated to give?

Most "handlers" get some form of kickback from somewhere so if the parents are a major part of the procress, then they wouldn't allow their child to be exploited...unless they are a "Newton-esque" family.
