'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Thanks to Mo Collins he is.

why does it have to be because of Mo? DJ visited UT more than UF but always stated UF was his leader. IF his parent's are allowing him to make his own choice, how can a man he's only known a fews years "push" him over to UF? UF has a need at OT and have one of the better OL coaches in the business. Maybe he took a look at everything and decided UF was a better fit for his goals. :twocents:

It's like being rejected by the girl of your dreams, you're never going to look at it logically, it's easier to play the blame game

Im going to say VOL. If not friday by the time he enrolls he will be a Vol. I believe he really likes Tenn and with visiting as much as he has its not a done deal if he does indeed pick Fla friday. Stick with skeeter and believe in CHH and Dooley.

Agreed. Though personally, if I was a recruit - I could never choose UF because of Will Hill. Dude makes UF look terrible.

Looks like some decent Florida info is coming out now...that is bad news.

Still going to hope for a Vol announcement tomorrow, Skeeter try to get something for us from the coaches!

They went silent at just the wrong time!

I wouldn't believe it. Just the same bs being amplified by people who don't know anything.

Nothing but increased smoke and mirrors.

Besides, I don't see a link, or a patty for that matter

I understand that DJ is an EE player. The result of the Sept. 17 battle between Tennessee and Florida could turn him to the winner. Most 17/18 year olds like to win. We'll see what happens in January.

This one is over folks, you'll see tomorrow...It's 100% over, once he announces, he wont switch. He's not that type of kid. All Gator

Has anyone noticed how more posters all of a sudden have credible sources that are in on the situation the closer we get to a decision? Just find that odd.

Where are all these 15 post experts coming from? No one knows where he is going... why would DJ tell anyone where he is going? Does he want it leaked before he announces?

Because HG we want someone to blame for this. DJ couldn't be making a decision he wants if he chooses FL....

This is part of it..............for some reason, fans find it hard to believe when someone doesn't choose to attend their school. Has to be "outside influences" or "scared of our roster/competing" etc...........never quite understood that.

you're right, totally overstating Mo Collins' impact on the kid. After all, the kid just had this to say about him:

Mo Collins is my trainer and I have learned a lot from him. He has taught me the ins and outs of the position. Mo is from my area. I met him through a teammate that trains with him. He convinced me to start working out with them. It's been about a year. Our bond is ridiculous. That's when I started really playing. I look back at the film of when I started playing and just laugh.

But I'm sure Mo didn't play a role in Humphries decision between his alma mater and one of their biggest rivals...

Come on man, don't undersell Mo Collins' role just b/c you want to legitimize Humphries' decision... Collins played a role, and a much bigger one than you let on. Nothing wrong with that, it doesn't sound like Collins broke any ncaa rules, but call a spade a spade and be thankful that your former players still recruit for their school rather than for Auburn.

D.J. Humphries improving rapidly - ESPN

Yea Mo Collins obviously has no interest in where DJ goes, what are we thinking... He just wanted to take DJ to FNL after he cancelled because he enjoys the drive.

Outside influences do play a factor, and in a good chunk of cases a rather large factor. You know this. You said this in the Hamilton thread:

I think it is UF or Rutgers for this kid.............but UT has a shot. One of his teammates played at UF a few years ago (Justin Trattou) and that is what steered his interest towards us. if it isn't us, it is Rutgers imo.

Do you really believe that if Mo wasnt involved this would even be a discussion? Normally you do well to look over your Gator glasses but this is definitely a homer view.

Pretty sure this wont be the last time we hear Mo Collins being involved either.

Interesting that so many now want to downplay Collins influence when early on it was the reason for their optimism. Now that DJ has chosen UF, they'd have us believe Collins role was insignificant, really it was just UF's natural superiority that won out.

Obviously Collins was the difference here. That's not sour grapes, its just the truth. It doesn't matter one way or the other, DJ's a gator. Good luck to him.
