If You Could Change the Outcome of One Play.........

09 Bama blocked FG
01 Stallworth fumble
96 Memphis TD
10 LSU
10 UNC

not necessarily in that order

Recent moments: Denarius Moore's dropped pass against VT in Chickfila bowl, Mount Cody's fg block, the pick six taken back for late hit against Chris Leak, too many people on the field against LSU, the refs calling the players back on the field in Music City Bowl...so many...

The ref not blowing the call against Brad Melsby in the '98 Miami game saying he fumbled. UCLA runs out the clock and then plays the Vols in the first BCS championship.

That game is like the headache that just won't go away... oh well...

There's many, but I'll look for some that haven't been posted much in this thread.

Certainly, the called back pick-six against UF in 2006 hurts. Ainge's pick-six vs. LSU in the 2007 SECCG wasn't fun. I'm infuriated every time I see this play. Not kneeling on the last play of the first half against Notre Dame in 2004 sucks only because it's Notre Dame and they're my most-hated non-SEC team. The Jabar Gaffney "touchdown", although it still would've gone to OT.

It always sucks to realize how many heartbreakers a team can have.

1. 2009 vs bama, field goal blocked

2. I forget what year but Casey Clausen was our qb. Right before halftime against UGA. Tried hand it off fumbled

3. 2006 vs fla Dallas Baker touchdown

Just a few to throw out there

the UGA TE drops that pass in 01
"hands to the head" penalty in 06
bama 2pt conversion in 93
09 bama blocked fg

I'm sure there are many others I'll remember

In that 01 UGA game, we don't squib kick and not give them the ball near midfield giving the opportunity for the TE to run into the endzone.

Andy kelly's last minute end zone INT in 90 against ND when the guy showed about a 48 inch vertical was probably the saddest Ihave ever been after a game. I was in third grade and my friends had been saying Tennessee sucks all week. I desperately wanted that win against Rocket Ishmael and the #1Irish. On a sad note, it seems --besides 1998-- that we have been a program of almosts.

Not that unusual for strong programs. It takes a lot of luck to win a championship, and the programs that are always in the mix are naturally going to have it go against them sometimes.

Florida State and Oklahoma have lost 3 NCGs each in the last 15 years, and Ohio State has lost 2.

This is the one I always lament. I think it was more like the 30-yd line but UT had the momentum and had that pass been two inches higher we complete it and go in for the score....Same year, the blocked field goal against Bama and then Phillip Doyle turns around moments later to hit a 50-yarder to beat us 6-3.

one that sticks out is the pick six that Ainge threw in the 2007 SECCG. Our defense was dominant that entire game. It's a shame the game was pretty much decided on a pick six.

without a doubt, it would be the Jabar Gaffney non catch in the endzone. Worst call EVER!!! Still makes my blood boil just thinking about it a decade later! The following week after blowing several big calls in a Bama vs. Vandy game, the SEC suspended that officiating crew.

(1) Any of A. Fosters fumbles against Bama, Penn State, U.S.Carolina or any one else.
(2) 1999 in-complete pass to Gaffney,in the end zone that the ref called as complete and we lose. We win and
end up 10-1, with a lone loss to Arkansas 24 -22. We win the S.E.C. East and go to SEC Championship game.

That play happened in 2000

03 Georgia game. It was 13-7 and UT was at the 2 yard line attempting to take the lead before half. Clausen attempts to hand the ball off, fumbles it, an UGA runs it in for a TD to take a 20-7 lead into halftime. We all know how bad it got after that. That 2nd half rivals the 02 UF 1st half as the worst halves I've seen in the last decade.

That too. LSU should thank Ainge for a National Championship.

Lsu was 9-3 going into the championship game. They most very much could of been 9-4 and playing in the citrus bowl. UT would of been sugarvols again.

They were 10-2. Only in the insanity that was the 2007 season in college football could a team that lost to Kentucky and Arkansas win the National Championship.

That season was insane. But very fun to watch indeed.

A lot of weird teams were in the top 10 that year. #2 was a position that changed every week, from South Florida to Cal. Boston College to Oregon.

Not to mention South Florida, Kansas, and Missouri spending time in the top five. Missouri hit #1.
