Rich get richer?

It's all about momentum. Florida had it and it's slipped away. The jury is out, at least in my mind, about Auburn. If Auburn maintains it, you'll see cracks in the wall at Bama.

How does this benefit UT? Only until they start winning, pull a few upsets and then we'll see momentum swing towards Knoxville. All these kids want the same thing...the excitement of major college football, a perceived advantage at a particular place to set them up to move to the next level and most importantly, the chance to play for championships. UT is very close in many ways and I've got tremendous belief Dooley is the man. The only unknown is winning on Saturdays...once Dooley proves he can do this, all the rest will fall into place. And that includes having the Jernigans, Humphreys and Shanks of the world jump on your bandwagon in the middle of the summer before their senior years of high school.

One down year in the last 6 years and it's all slipping away! :cray:

HG, I really respect the hell out of you but UF doesn't have the momentum they had in years past. You now have a coaching change which is always an unknown (it's worked swell for UT, hasn't it? They've enjoyed it so much they've changed a couple of more times to boot!!). FSU seems to do no wrong on the recruiting trail and that is where it all starts.

Being a Floridian, I know how things work here...there's only room for one at the top and if you're not #1 in your own state, it will slip away, I promise you. Hell, we all know FSU's top 5 streak and how impressive that sounds...but, the U was winning championships while FSU was finishing #4 or #5...not bad but they knew who the top dog was and the U was laughing at them year in and year out.

Some Auburn fans I know are saying he's FSU's to lose, given they are also saying they are in on Goldman

Trying to figure out what he meant to. Becuase Shanks going to FSU or wherever does not affect UA 1 bit.

TW...Bama's worry will be similar to UF's. If Aubbie keeps winning on the field and on the recruiting trail, Bama will lose momentum. I think this is happening in Florida as I speak but not yet in your neck of the woods.

The perception to me is obvious in college football...if you're not #1 in your own backyard, no matter how good you may be, you will eventually begin to slide. HG had a point...it was only one mediocre year. But, how quick it comes to haunt you...they're now picked to finish 3rd in the SEC's weakest division and no one is scared of them anymore. Jeez...many on this board can't wait to play them this year!

Seems like only yesterday Timmy and Urbie had the world by the tail...

Also being a Floridian I understand how these "cycles" work but this is the first time that none of the BIG 3 has been on probation during the same decade. IMO one win doesn't swing this back in FSU favor. Hell, CMR won his first game against UF and look how that has worked out for him. This will come down to coaching and recruiting. UF went through staff turnovers heading into last season, just wait until Jimbo has to replace Stoops or other coaches. Their window is only 3 season including last year.

Well I doubt they continue on the field this season so I am not that worried.
