If CDD is truly trying to rebuild the program you do it from ground up and not bring in a guy for the most 2 years. You create a foundation and build on it with players like J James. Yes JUCOs bring quick fixes but do not solve the problem long term.
JUCO may bring 1 or 2 more wins a season but if UT wants to get back to the top JUCOs will not do it alone. JUCOs are good when you have all of talent and you need a plug but as a cornerstone and I think UT would want a player that would be there atleast 3 years.Again JMO.
And before someone says what about AU with Cam and Nick lets not kid ourselves about all the other talent around them. Whcih will be very apparant this year with so much gone.
Disagree TW. Circumstance and situations vary w/ each program, in Tennessee's case, CDD's utilizing JUCO talent for a multitude of reasons none-the-which are more important than to address the teams youth and inexperience. CDD and Staff may not land every recruit (on their wish list) but they are bringing in players that they feel best fit the system. With regard to future (Tennessee) recruiting classes, Coach/Staff continuity and winning will attract better (position of need) talent while reducing the need for JUCO players.
Agreed. TW, don't you think you can do both? It would be like bashing Saban for bringing in Cody and Williams at the same time he was bringing in other NTs.
