'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

I disagree with the "this won't be offer until he enrolls" thinking for Humphries. There are some guys where you know they are flippable right up until NSD. But I don't think Humphries is one of them. I think he wants to make a decision before the season and be completely done with the recruiting process. 99% chance he sticks with whatever he announces on 8/5, imo.

DJ has stated he would still take his visits.

kid looks to be in turrible shape

I was thinking the same thing. 6' 7" and 320 lbs, but he looks like there's a good amount of "bad" weight happening there.

Nevermind. Went back and looked through his other pics on scout. He's probably 30 or so pounds of "soft" weight I would guess. Could work that off and replace it with muscle in a college s&c program.

IF UF was 3-4 hours away they would be the choice imo. Nothing Hiestand could have said on that visit wasn't said on the past 5 or 6 trips.

I am not inside the kid's circle so I don't know all the factors. His visits to UT however seem to indicate much more than passive interest on his part... IOW's, if UF was ever the leader it was not by the clear margin some assumed.

The parents are the key here. Distance is EXTREMELY important to them and DJ also.

That is the main reason we are likely going to land him over gata's.

IF that is in fact the main reason then I doubt he ends up at UT. UF can sell past that.

If he does come to UT I believe that it will be because of CHH and his ability to develop talent.

The hang-up for me is that this was pretty much cut and dry until he came to UT for the visit and I wonder if he did that to create some theatrics? Otherwise, no one except Gators were going to pay any attention to his announcement. It was becoming a forgone conclusion.

Rumors will go back & forth all the way up to 8/5, even if he commits to a school it wont be over w/ until he gets on a campus. I like where Tennessee stands w/ Humphries right now.

I as well do, and with all the positive news out there, I don't see how anyone cannot. Even our resident Florida fans don't deny how good it looks for the Vols. I agree with the it will go back and forth between now and the 5th. I think any noobs to recruiting need to understand that that's how it works with most recruits. Might save them from embarrassing themselves with panic stricken posts and threads. & us from having to read them
