I hope this kid realizes he could get playing time from day 1 here. With the staff making him the #1 backer on the board....I hope they can get it done.

That's why I fail to believe we've fallen out of favor with him. He was enamored with Sirmon, want to play in the SEC and one of his main concerns is early PT. He also said he realizes that UT is short on LBs.

Those around him also say he doesn't want to leave Texas. He'll flirt with the SEC for a while then stay at home.

I guess I'll believe it when I see it. First, he commits to Oklahoma State. Next, he decommits because of a new found interest of the SEC. I don't believe staying home is that high of a priority to him.

he doesnt want to leave texas?

everything he's done up to this point says otherwise.

who are "those around him" ?

If we could somehow get Santos on a recruiting visit and manage to blindfold him and get him into to Cades Cove, calling it someone's top-secret private hunting property I think we could bribe him to play for us after seeing all those bucks. Although he may be sorely disappointed when he gets here and sees East TN's lack of deer. Granted, we have great bear and coon hunting, as well as turkey and pheasant - but Middle TN is where it's at for me. Dickson County.

I just camped in Cades Cove last week for 3 nights with the family. Alot of fun except Wed in the rain. Going to Cosby next week. But alot of deer and bears out there.

BTW the IGA in Townsend for being a small store has everything.

"I think I need to look around for a bit and check some places so I can find the right fit," he said. "I know I'm going to Texas A&M on July 17 and then I'm going to hit a few schools in a week -- Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida for sure. I don't know all of the dates yet."
No. 1 ILB Dalton Santos plays for keeps - ESPN

This is a guy that I would put in my top 3 most wanted. I think he could be a beast for TN and would make an impact from day 1.

Yea and cheap gas too! Where in Cosby? I'll be camping there the 4th-7th at Crazy Horse (well, between Gatlinburg and Cosby)

North end of the park right off 321 not far from I40. Can only reserve a few there but they have over 150 sites. I have been told very large sites and secluded.

You'll be camping about 3 miles from my house. It's beautiful around here.

All the reviews has it as one of the best campgrounds in the Smokeys. But because most of the sites are first come first served and far away from everything it does not get the visitors that the others do.

BTW how is the trout fishing around that area?

Someone get Bill Dance on the horn and see if he can't get to Texas and see if we have a shot with this kid.

Way to go out on a limb there. He will get PT as a freshman whereever he goes.

Dooley is going to have to pick up some guys like this. I'm not saying it has to be next week - but this recruiting year. Winning can help that... we just have to win a couple we aren't suppose to this year.

"I'm looking at Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas A&M and OU and OSU is in that mix well. I'm looking really more to the SEC than anything," he said.

Speaking of those schools, Santos next indicated that he has a trip planned later this month to check out each of the aforementioned programs in person.

"This month on the 17th I'm going to Texas A&M and there for like two weeks I'll be traveling to a bunch of places like Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, OU, I'm going to hit OSU again, and Florida. So I'm going to hit several places there for like two weeks," he detailed.
