Did anyone watch Jon Stewart on Chris Wallace?

There is no doubt but that the "mainstream" media remains deeply distru****l of government and businessm it is a carryover from Vietnam and Watergate.

Not sure I agree - I think it may be that the entrenched on both sides are very vocal but not a combined majority.

Thanks for the compliment.

I agree with milo's assessment of you bham. Lord knows we agree on some issues don't agree on others, nevertheless, your arguments are factually based and intelligently presented. I respect that. I'd definitely have a beer with you.

I'd be careful with that... It's not that some arguments aren't factually based, most are -- it's the commonality of aligning oneself with a particular ideologue and then addressing a topic that's the issue.

Eh, we all do that to a degree. I see what you are saying, but I feel that most of the time bham is open to discussion. At least moreso than many that post here.

Maybe I'm just not smart enough, but I just don't follow what you are saying as it pertains to bham's arguments or anyone else's on here for that matter.

bham is fine. Phrased awkwardly perhaps, I just meant it as a general comment, but I think it does apply on here. I've sort of drifted from my original point, I guess.

Another thing milo, I think we see eye to eye on many topics. I would enjoy picking your brain over an adult beverage as well.

The only reason Stewart didn't own him more is that Wallace kept stopping his answers to show more videos.

It's equally annoying when comedians like Stewart, Maher and even Miller to some degree hide behind the comedian moniker while passive aggressively delivering a political agenda. Everybody has an agenda.
Maher's not really hiding behind anything when pushing forth his agenda.

What this guy said. If anyone gets their vag sanded over something Jon Stewart says, then they probably don't realize they are watching Comedy Central.

It's a scary thought, but there are times where I think the some of the most sensible media opinions about politics, religion, and other issues come from South Park.

The problem I have with Maher is that I can remember when he was supposedly a Libertarian doing skits with a conservative Arianna Huffington and crushing Bill Clinton on a nightly basis on Politically Incorrect.

No doubt, but there's a segment of the population for whom Jon Stewart might as well be Walter Cronkite.

I totally agreed with Stewart on that point. Jonathan Swift would be proud

He is very libertarian on social issues. While he has an undeniable friendliness to left leaning agendas on economics, he does blast Democrats often. Mainly for being spineless.

Those guys are without a doubt the most equal opportunity critics out there.

Bill Maher makes a good point every now and then, and some times he delivers a laugh. However, his intelligence and wit seems overstated based on the fact that his audience seems to consist of mental invalids. In all honest, I'm not sure I've ever heard him make actual arguments.

I can stand Maher in small doses, and only on certain subjects. He can pop off something funny every now and then, but the balance of his stuff is irritating.
