I agree with that and I do believe that we are going to pull some awesome WR's. Coach B is doing a great job. I was just wondering what your preference was when it comes to the WR's we are looking at.

I would put Patterson up there near the top with anyone. His film is ridiculous and his measureables look great (except his 400 time: inside joke, don't freak, lol). I'm sorry but I offer and take Hegedus b/c of his work ethic, hands, and his inside track to Printz. I think that Redding likes us but will go another route. Crane, I like but I don't know enough about him. Honestly, there are people out there like Diggs that I like better, but I would rather look at what's possible and going to help UT the most.

"It was good. It was awesome. Definitely lived up to what everyone was saying about it," Crane said.

"We got there and then we met all the coaches and went in some meetings and got to talk to coach Dooley and then we sat down with the players panel and then we went and saw the academic people and some of the dorms," Crane offered.

"Really, I'd say I got a good feel for how the coaches are. I spent a ton of time with the receivers coach, coach Baggett. Coach Russell toured me around and then we had lunch with coach Russell and coach Chaney and then we had a meeting with coach Chaney. The biggest thing I learned was how the coaches are and they're really cool guys," Crane offered.

"Once I make these last two visits I think me and my parents are going to sit down and just kind of think about things and I think I'll be ready," Crane said.

His final four schools consist of Northwestern, Tennessee, Cal, and Stanford.

Don't be sorry about liking Hegedus. He just seems to get better and better at every camp/ tournament. I heard the bama coaches were all over him today praising his skills

Man, honestly, I'm not sorry. Under normal circumstances, I believe Charlie gets an offer early. Unfortunately, with the number crunch, things are moving slow. I still hope that things change and become a lot clearer.

I think once Vandy and Kentucky fill their class, we should be able to start getting some commitments. Most kids are going to wait and see if the Cats or Dores have a spot for them before they settle on Knoxville.

Vandy may do well right now in the offseason but once they start losing, all bets are off. The new staff there is doing a phenomenal job, but it's still Vandy. No recruit likes seeing their future team lose by 20+ to other SEC teams.

While they may lose alot, I can still see where some solid players would prefer to go to a Vandy. They still play on TV and would most likely see alot more playing time. If you stand out at Vandy, you can still be drafted into the NFL alot quicker than a kid sitting on the bench at Tennessee.

I guess recruits choose schools for a lot of different reasons. I don't know what would make someone go to a school that has an all time record of 558–567–50 (.496) and a stadium that holds less than 40,000.

I would think the idea of sitting on the bench for 4 years and never getting to play a snap. I am sure alot of kids realize they are not 5 star talent and accept the fact that they can play at some schools and not at others. I am sure there are kids who have came to Tennessee knowing pretty well they would have a hard time seeing the field. While just being a VOL means alot to some kids, playing time might be more important.

The depth chart issue never stopped us in our prime. It doesn't stop Bama or the Barn from pulling talent now. We have everything we need to offer to recruits and pull them in. The only thing we are lacking at this point is winning. Hopefully, Dooley can start to deliver that as well. Winning, my friend, cures all.

Hopefully the kids are smart enough to know that stars don't mean anything. Coaches don't see stars, they see potential. If you show a coach that you have potential vs a guy who thinks his stars are gonna earn him a multi-million dollar contract in the NFL as soon he steps on campus, your chances are better to see the field IMO.

Ain't that the truth! Especially when you're dealing with 17-18 year olds....

Because our bench is filled with solid players.

I'm still inclined to agree. Vandy will land lots of good players this recruiting cycle. They'll be in the top half of the SEC in recruiting and Franklin will leave for a head coaching gig at a top 5 program in 5 years.

It's frickin Vandy. You tell me if they've had a Peyton Manning, Al Wilson, Jamal Lewis, Reggie White, Jason Witten, Alvin Harper, James Stewart, Travis Henry, Peerless Price, Jerod Mayo, hell even Arian Foster etc. to name a few. Hell no. I don't care who sits on the bench here, if you wanna play for a big time football school, you choose UT over Vandy any day of the week. How many NFL stars has Vandy had? If im not mistaken, not many. Id take my chances at UT and go up against some d**n good competition for playing time and you would have a better shot at making it. Hell, you could start for just one year at UT and have a better shot of making it to the NFL than starting 3-4 years at Vandy and making it there.

He wants to decide immediately after visiting? Might be good news.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Reading his post visit interview on TOS, it sounded like he is in a rush to commit, and although he did not specifically say who it was, it sounded like he already had his mind made up. After all the glowing comments, I have to think it is Tennessee.

If you read the description of his visit, it sounds like the UT staff put on the full court press with him -- more so than the average recruit. I was a little surprised at this point in the recruiting cycle and with a basically unheralded kid, but it certainly appears that our staff wants him badly. Good enough for me.

I have read that our biggest competition in his recruitment is Stanford. The kid wants to be pre med in college. He is at the top of his class for academics. I am not getting too excited... yet.

Stanford will be tough to beat but man would I like to get this guy. He reminds me of De'Anthony Arnett.
