Severe Weather Thread

Thanks for that heads up. I will definitely get home a little early tomorrow.

Work (at Bethel). Trust me, if I didn't have to, I wouldn't be there. lol

I have a friend that attends Bethel. Stay safe tomorrow.

Me neither. Dr. Forbes has West TN's TorCon at 8/10 for tomorrow and usually Dr. Forbes is spot on. He had Tuscaloosa, Al and Yazoo City, MS both at 9/10 on the days of those two outbreaks.

My mom sent me an email saying the TorCon was now 9 for West TN.

Its brewing up t be a bad one

74 degrees this morning with dew points in the mid 60's. As that low approaches, its going to pull th moist, unstable air over West Tn., North Miss. and W. Kentucky. Couple that with upper level wind sheer and you got all the mixings for a bad event.

Hopefully, we can get some cloud cover that will slow down the heating of the atmosphere, but its looking like we wont be that lucky. That is what saved us back on April 26th.

Stay safe and please keep an eye to the weather.

True, How is it looking for East Tennessee today? We got hit pretty hard yesterday with a cloud buster in my area.

A tornado that went over my brothers place in Ft. Worth, TX

Same tornado after it past his house. As you can see it grew bigger.

This happened yesterday afternoon.

Do you expect this to be the worst one of the year, so far?

Its hard to tell.

Lets say it has all the makings to be the worst we have seen

This may be an event West Tenn has never seen as far as wide, long track tornadoes

Not trying to scare anyone, but even in 1999, 2003 and 2008, the tornadoes were confined to a general area and were not truly long track tornadoes

Then, only a few supercells formed ahead of the cold front and drop tornadoes out of those particular storms.

However, if the conditions today are any indication, we could see the potential for multiple super cell development, each being favorable for development of wide, long track tornadoes.

It bares watching very closely.
