Demetrius Goode, a former 4 star recruit, Senior RB transferring to N. Alabama. I sure hope his "medical condition" heals. I'll wait for TW to come blindly support Saban. I'm sure this kids parents completely understand and are perfectly fine with the move. after all, they're all told up front right TW. :good!:

The kid went out praising the school and the coaching staff. Goode loves Alabama.

But, he's 5th on the RB depth chart. If he wants to play, why would he stay at Alabama? He's already got a ring, now he wants playing time.

If you're trying to start something, don't even try.

First of all, TideWarrior is good people, and even though I loathe and despise The Enemy, I appreciate the information he brings us and the input he gives. He has every right to defend his coach just as you have to defend yours.

Second, I do not appreciate the fact that you always come here to pick fights and start arguments, nor does anyone else. Love your team, but be respectful to the other posters. After all, this site is not colored in red and black.

Third, if the young man is having medical issues to the point that he has to transfer to another school, then that is very unfortunate. Bad behavior and poor grades is one thing, but a medical concern is something else. There is no need to throw salt in the wounds. Personally, I wish him all the best.

Wha? you believe that his "medical issues" forced him to leave? If by "medical issues" we mean, bama was 10 over the limit & needed to trim fat, then yes he has "medical issues" that forced him to leave. not trying to start anything, just looking for TW's explanation & justification for these tactics. i personally believe this kid just got snow jobbed, a year away from recieving his UA degree, thats the salt in the wound.

Well I'm sure he will provide it. He seems to know more about his team than you do. So, let's wait for TideWarrior's insight.

Maybe I'm missing a joke, but medical issues have nothing to do with Goode leaving. Playing time is the sole reason Goode is leaving.

My mistake. I hadn't heard anything about it until now, so I was just going on what the original poster had said. I should know better, right?

You'd be stunned at how rare this belief is on these boards. I for one couldn't agree more.

I guess you are missing the joke. The joke is signing kids to scholarships and then sending them off to 1AA schools when they bust in order to make room for the newest 30 man class just inked. The joke is sitting in a kids living room and making promises to parents to "take care" of their son knowing all the while they'll be on the first bus to mobile the minute they get hurt. so this time its the "playing time" card? ok, just call me skeptical. & by the way, whats with all the bama support in this board, thought bama-ut were some sort of rivals? guess i was wrong.

Sorry, backtatt, but that's garbage.

Goode was never hurt, even once, during his time at Alabama. He is not being shipped off with some lousy explanation. The kid is a senior (who already has his degree), but he's behind 1 junior, 1 sophomore, 1 RS sophomore, and a true freshman on the depth chart. He has yet to see any playing time at Bama, other than mop-up duty, and he wasn't going to see any during his senior year.

Even if the coaching staff came to him and told him that he should transfer if he wanted playing time, he ultimately made that call. He wasn't "cut", his exit wasn't "snow-jobbed", and he had nothing but great things to say about Alabama on his way out.

So what if Saban still runs his program as if he was coaching the Miami Dolphins...free agency is rough at times. At least the kid has a team to play for unlike so many free agent cuts that have no where to go in the NFL. Come on man::glare:

Every school does it.

I think he's saying he's mad Saban is better at it. Kind of like being mad that TX can demand a blue chipper sign the line or lose his spot. I wouldn't admit I was jealous though because it just shows our place in the recruiting wars.

When we are able to do the above I fully expect DD to do it regularly.

Goode initially signed a LOI with Kentucky but reneged and went to Bama. I guess he knows how it feels to go back on your word.

ok bamawriter, whats the excuse for Petey Smith? playing time? medical issues? academics? or is it finally time to admit that the kid got cut for being a bust. I'll wait for you to put you're crimson goggles on & cook up the excuse.

Sad thing is we wanted Smith bad and he would be playing this year if not starting with our woeful depth at LB. Im not so sure he's a bust, just got recruited over and you know the rest. Same story, same Saban just a different player.

Sounds like a playing time issue. Have you looked at Bama's linebacker depth chart lately?
