Got a chance to see Jackson before practice today. He was currently doing his weekly meeting with the coaches.

Jackson and PW have matching black casts.

And no I didn't ask why he is wearing one.

Well that sucks in a way, but in a way I'm glad JJ was at practice. Did he have an injury? Is that his personal problem? If we get him back they will not be able to pass anything on us.

Agreed. Just because a coach can be 'cool' with his players doesn't mean it will result in victories on the field.

The coach's relationship to a player should be that of a mentor more than a friend.

If we stay healthy, we can play with anyone in the nation. Its as simple as that. We desperately need Janzen, Greg, and Austin though.

I didn't realize JJ was back. I hate my job. Takes up entirely way too much of my time.

I don't think anyone meant to imply he's back as in back in school and practicing, he was just seen - apparently been in Knoxville pretty much the whole time...

He's not back. My understanding is that he has regular meeting with the coaches to see where he's at with his mystery problem.

What exactly is Janzen's problem? I keep hearing that it's personal issues or something. Is that pretty much all we know?

I've heard family issue, personal issue, but whatever it is apparently it's a legitimate excuse for the NCAA to allow him to play this fall. Several times Dooley said it's up to Janzen though to "stay on track" and right now he is.
