I used to get free tickets to the Memorial from the owner of my office space. Renting from Rothschild has its perks. I went to the Memorial for 3 straight years and saw Tiger win it in 2009 before he fell apart. I personally would never go to any golf tourney that I had to pay for.

I went on a Tuesday couple of years ago. I am 1-5 in the practice round lotto. Tuesday is without a doubt the best day because the crowd is smaller. Monday is packed. I though the merchandise was very reasonable $$ wise.

I saw Fuzzy Zoeller pick some random dude out of the crowd to let him tee off on #12, and I swear this random dude almost hit a hole in one. Amen Corner went nuts.

Concessions are reasonable, merchandise not so much. Dude I went with insisted on getting everybody in our group of 4 this pullover waterproof windbreaker that was like $70 a piece. Didn't see many good deals.

Still not sure. The guy I usually go with has a hurt foot and honestly, I've been so many times that I can almost take it or leave it at this point.

Come on man. Killing my buzz. We booked our disasters tourney Monday at the course you gave me, but are playing TPC Sugarloaf instead. Couldn't pass up the chance.

The place is awesome, ranks #2 in my awesomeness scale. #1 is Grand Canyon.

$70 bucks for a waterproof pullover is fair. They could charge $120.

I will post some pics tonight that I took of Tiger walking down fairway #5 through an early mornig fog

The Live Oaks they have growing on the property are so cool looking, especially around the clubhouse

Hey, this is my first time and I'm 40. What I have found out is that if you want to go to a practice round, you can make it happen. Just gotta do it. It's going to be a very affordable 2 days, compared with what I spend with my family on a 2 day vaca.

Give yourself plenty of travel time. If you get there early just find a spot to eat breakfast or drink some coffee. There's shopping centers & restaurants right across the street & around the grounds. If it's your first time it will seem odd with it's location. Just a hidden property surrounded by bamboo trees or canes trees, whatever you wanna call them. The driving range net might also catch your attention.

The surrounding area is definitely the most shocking thing about Augusta National for people that have never been there before. You expect a pristine country setting and instead you get a highly commercialized, busy road with a run down shopping center across the street. It's remarkable how much difference there is from Washington Road to the other side of the barrier that runs along the property line.
