Matta is the only guy to make the jump from Butler and win.

You think Stevens couldn't? He can recruit, manage a program, and out-coach most in the x's and o's department. He's a far better coach than Lickliter.

That said, I'd be shocked if he wanted to come here. He's probably waiting for IU to open up.

Hat, I missed your top 10 list, but do you think Frank would be a good hire if we could get him? Seems to be quite a stir with him right now. Thanks.

Recruiting is the only downside I see to Mooney. I don't think he'd get a lot of All Americans to play in his offense. I like the guy though, a lot!

Hat, with Mooneys style, don't you think it would be difficult to get top ranked recruits to play in it?

I think Frank would be a fantastic hire. I also think the chances of it happening are minute.

Hat. Do you think Mooney could if given enough time have success like Bo Ryan does a Wisconsin? Wouldn't that a dream scenario when hiring a guy like Mooney. Bo Ryan is such a great tactician that he does a nice job of equalizing talent gaps year in year out. I know Ryan has not had any highly ranked classes in the last few years and yet Wisconsin is rolling.

That's tough way to do business, year in and year out. Could he? Sure. It's just reducing your margin of error down to near nothing.
