Lawrence Frank - Boston Celtics Assistant

Well in my opinion college football is closer to nfl than college basketball is to nba. But to use your example...how did charlie weiss work out? People at ND were plenty giddy about him.

He was never a head coach in the NFL.

If I am reading this correctly, Frank isn't being looked at as highly as some other names we have on our list? Or he is second tier, because we have less a chance of landing him?

I have experience working with Frank when he was here during the O'Neil tenure. He would not be the best candidate for reasons which I will not post on an Internet chat board.

Not the same thing. He never had HC experience.

And how does this leads me to believe that he can recruit young minority athletes ?

I have a friend that is the pitching coach for the Dodgers. Doesn't mean that he can recruit prospective college baseball players. Doesn't mean that he can't.

Completely different argument.

I just assumed you didn't know that he was at one time a NBA head coach considering all you did was call him an assistant coach.

If it's personal I understand, but if it has to do with his basketball coaching abilities, let her rip.

Thanks for providing us with a listing of those pieces of information which you will not share with us.

You know, you could just sing showtunes in the middle of a crowded theatre to experience the same, if not more immediate, effects - right?

Apparently, the first tier is Dixon, Wright, Grant, Marshall, and Turgeon (in no order).

That's a name that I thought would be brought up. He would be near the top of my list.

With that said, I doubt we land him.

Tennessee has the same chance of hiring Jamie Dixon that they do Roy Williams. The odds aren't much better on Jay Wright.

Ok. Good point. Al groh then. Just saying it doesnt always translate. Same can be said in the reverse order too i.e nick saban.

I do understand your point however he has a better chance of getting top quality players immediately than our other mid major choices.

And then, only three remained.

My guess:

1. Grant
2. Turgeon
3. Marshall

Any wildcards to watch for, Hat (says the man who knows that Hat is not likely able to share said information, even if known)?

If those are really the three guys they want, there won't be any room for wildcards because the search won't go past them.

Why in the world would we leak those names?

I think it's hogwash. Gvx is looking for a story to appease the readers. Those readers want to know who we are going after and "sources" could be the taco bell guy down the road.

1. Your odds on landing Stevens, Frank or Brown?

2. Should I be as repulsed by the idea of hiring either Shaka Smart or Buzz Williams? Can't explain it, but I am.
