What i would like to see my university do is stop all the crying, begging, and apologizing. Bruce Pearl is a good coach and a good guy who the NCAA has caught lying. Yes he lied, i get it, but he was caught of gaurd and lied about something very minor and apologized.
He would have kept his job if not for investigators wanting to nail him so bad that they followed him around questioning everybody he talked to for two weeks but only finding a small bump which if only lasted for 30 sec. like the coaches say, is not a violation, so they want to smear him over a kids estimation of time. Someone needs to stand up to the NCAA Tarkanian style for all their inconsistancies. Might as well be the best university in the country to take the lead. We should tell the NCAA and ESPN if they want to drag us through the mud we can do the same to them buy fighting this in court and making public statements calling a spade a spade. We have a great coach that cares, lets fight for him. And for most of you on volnation attacking Pearl and calling for a new coach, i know most of you are trolling but thats fine, karma's a biatch. JMO, IMHO TIFWIW.

The Shark was let lose by UNLV in 1992. It took him 6 years to settle with the NCAA where he was awarded 2.5 million. Don't think I want our program fighting the NCAA for 6 years. If Pearl wants to go it alone have at it.

Yes, let's put our programs on FURTHER SANCTIONS by saying "Screw you NCAA, this is your fault!!! You guilted Bruce into lying!!!"

If doing what the OP says and standing up for whats right causes further sanctions then theres a serious problem with the system. The NCAA works for the universities, not the other way around and their charged with being fair.

Except it's not doing right. What is right is firing the man who keeps dragging the university through the mud. Don't blame the NCAA for Bruce's stupidity and character flaws.

If what he did is your standard for a character flaw then you and i have the same flaw.

I actually have never lied to my boss or school, then tried to get other people to cover it up, figured out I was caught and come back to tell people I "confess", have a teary eyed apology in front of them and swear I'll behave forever and ever, then go out and break the rules four days later, and not tell anyone...have you?

Im pretty sure all of our dishonesties are not exactly the same and get your facts right if you must troll. He lied to the NCAA, and he did it because one of his assistance did it first and he was trying to keep him out of trouble. Also saying he broke a rule four days later is believing a kids rough estimate of the time frame as the op stated which is what i would expect you to do.
