My football quip was obviously tongue in cheek. However, your post in bold must be an endorsement of Hammy boy. Right? :loco:Tennessee is much more than a football school. We have been a sleeping giant in basketball for awhile, which could explain why we have one of the largest b-ball stadiums in the country and some of the best facilities as well. Also, explains why our fans have fervently been behind Pearl and his success at UT. It's been a mystery why we have been dormant since the early 80's. Tennessee won't be going away in b-ball and our fanbase definitely cares about basketball.
Ummm, I made the part of the post bold to point out my point. :crazy:My post wasn't in bold. The practice faciity was built by HammyBoy due to Bruce Pearl's success and in order to keep BP at Tennessee. The upgrades at Thompson Boiling are also nice. Good job by Hamilton but that still doesn't add up the dumb hires he made. I hate Hamilton after the way he handled the situation yesterday and allowed Kiffin to say whatever he wanted to the media.
92% of people on a current govols survery support BP over Hamilton at 1600 votes for Pearl over less than 100 for Hamilton.
We won a regular season title during that stretch. Green turned out to be awful for the program, but he was having about the same success as Pearl.Wow...4 years...Wooolol: No SEC tournament titles and a sweet 16 to show for it....Excuse me while I run outside and scream YES! at the top of my lungs

You won't get any argument from me there. All I ever meant to do was point out that despite our less than stellar hisotry, there has actually been a time in the not to distant past when we enjoyed some semblance of basketball success. With O'Neils players...Green pretty much just rolled a ball out on the court and told em to try and put it in the basket...He wasn't the best COACH around thats for sure...But he had some nice players to cover up that lack of ability for him....It was clear the inmates ran that asylum
The tough thing for me is I actually like the guy. I sat right in front of him in Athens a few years ago at a football game and talked to him on and off for 3 hours and he could not have been friendlier. But I just can't get past the world of hurt he is bringing on the program and the PR hit he has dealt the school.I'm in Pearl's corner.
