It is not over hyped nothing. It is just one of the few "cult" movies to make it.

My point is just people make it out to be better than it was. Good movie yes, great movie, no.

Ok, I can see that, each his own.

Overrated would be something like Titanic. A movie like Fight Club and Lebowski, isn't overrated, it is just over loved.

I like it, but gets overhyped so much that it makes it less enjoyable.

I loved Point Break when it came out. Then I tried to watch it as an adult and I realized I'm not 10 anymore.

No one in good conscience could ever say a movie like this is the "best of the decade". The only excusable reason to say this is even a favorite of yours is nostalgia (the same reason I love Ninja Turtles still.).
