This is a clear-cut case of Murphy's Law at work. I can't believe this.

I do, however, understand the circumstances under which this has happened. Janzen is having personal issues that are too great for the football program to handle, so he needs to get away and clear his head and reevaluate things. To all of the Chicken Littles here, understand that family ALWAYS comes first, and Janzen needs some time. The door has been left open for him to return to school, so it is best to settle down and wait and see what happens over the next few months. Until then, I wish Janzen nothing but the best in his pursuit of greater peace and closure in his life.

Janzen, if you do decide to return, we will welcome you back with open arms. If not, best wishes in your future endeavors, wherever you go. Vol For Life.

sucks...I hope everything works out for this young man...

there are times when a school needs a player and other times when the player needs a school/team...seems this may be a case of both.

I like how (edit)posters in this thread instantly jumps on JJ, as if UT football is the most important thing to anyone and everyone. Has it ever occurred to anyone that his family is going through an extremely challenging time right now, one which I assume at least 99.9% of posters on this board have never had to deal with?

Evans has made far more of a contribution than Askew. By several reliable reports, Askew had quit caring about football.

well lets see there was an armed robbery that went on... you gonna sit here and tell me he didnt know dam well what was going on that night.... then there was a weed thing if i remember correctly... then there was the bar brawl where he was "telling our guys to leave and to do the right thing" I dont believe that for a second. then there was another drug/fire alarm issue. then the "family issues" which we can only speculate what that means... now he is gone.

i mean i loved the kid on the field but my god, how many chances to get your head on straight.

Doubt he ends up coming back for football season, but I hope so. He was a great player here and I for one would welcome him back. Hope he can help take care of the personal problems at home.

If his brother is Aramis Jackson then yes, he was charged with murder. Not sure if it is confirmed that it is his brother or not though. Not trying to start any rumors.

do you guys really think he will do much? he will miss all of spring and summer workouts. everybody knows that will not fly with dooley whether he is an elite talent or not. he would still be rusty

:( I yearn for the day when I can go a few weeks without bad news about my Vols. It really just never ends. I'm not saying the sky is falling, but wow, really tired of getting 3 bad stories for every good one. It has to end someday.

If it wouldnt fly with Dooley, then he wouldnt have left the door open for him. He would be rusty though. Unless he stayed in shape and trained the entire time which I highly doubt. I think people have been to hard on him, but I sometimes wonder about his work ethic.

Hubbs says no one in his family is in trouble or going to jail, but it's a personal problem.
