Good trap. Hat, what's up with Hewitt at Ga Tech. How does the fan base not pony up his ridiculous buyout? No excuse for that program to be that bad. would that job be attractive to a good coach?

I think they've finally had enough. It's a good, not great, job. They can get a good coach, but my guess is they'll be in for a little shock when they find out how people perceive their job compared to what they think it is.

Taking the coach out of the equation, what holds GT back from being a great job? They play in the ACC and have a recruiting base that is as good as any. Is it the academic standards, community support, being basketball in a football city? Also, should Bobby Cremins get more recognition for the work he did in Atlanta?

It's just not as attractive a spot as some others in its league. The academics do place more limits on who you can recruit in comparison to their competition. Cremins did a fantastic job of building that program from almost nothing. Things did stagnate at the end of his tenure.

It does seem to me given the facilities we have in place, the fact we might have the nicest on campus arena in the country and a fanbase that has shown it will support a quality product tremendously that the only thing we are missing is a coach with great aau recruiting connections. That leads me to this that has been nagging at me- how much would being an Adidas and not nike school hurt us in landing a coach?

Hat, what you think of the Big East & Pac-10 this year? Miller has got the ball rolling at 'Zona, and the Ville have been a surprise.

If you think that the act is anywhere near as tough of a conference from top to bottom as it was 10 years ago then you are sadly mistaken.

How can anyone say they are "falling" when the defending NC comes from that conference.

ACC sits atop the College basketball mountain and everyone knows it.
Interesting. I guess that means the Big West will be proud to learn they were the dominant basketball conference in 1990.

Interesting indeed. Its the ACC Hat, deep down you know its the king of the castle.
Yeah, seeing Florida State lose to Auburn really tells me that's an awesome league. So does watching Wake Forest look like a Gulf South Conference team. It's a league with such awesome depth. It's not like North Carolina got pounded by Vanderbilt on a neutral floor.

Watching Tennessee lose to CofC really helps them establish themselves though. right?

Choked against Florida and had to cheat to get by Georgia.

The only conference that rivals the ACC is the Big East.

I seriously doubt you will find one intelligent person here try to argue the sec is anything other than pathetic this year.

Big east and big 10 are both better than the act and I go back and forth on whether the big 12 is or not.

GaTech did get crushed by the owls of Kennesaw State.
