That is just rediculous. It's not like this was a huge game to the extent that that football game was.
Not meaning to rain on the parade but a little context can go a long way.

Uh, how often do we play three Big East teams in one season?
If we beat UCONN, that will complete a huge win over 3 highly ranked Big East teams to let everyone know that Tennessee, suspension or not, is capable of competing with anyone in the country and a big Bruce Pearl stick-it-where-the-sunshine-doesn't hit ya to all the naysayers. It would be a big win.k::dance2::rock:

I cant have contact on game day so rather than hide in the hotel lets protect the integrity of the suspension, Pearl said.
Is that accurate?
CBP can't talk to his players 2 hours before the game, 3 hours after the game and 3 hours during the game. That's roughly 8 hours. Why would CBP need to talk to his players outside of this range? To make sure they are brushing their teeth in the morning and at night?
Maybe if they can just get a glimpse of CBP it will make them play better.
If there is a game that tips off @ 8, he can go over the game plan, watch film, lead the shoot around and discuss things with the team until 6, according to you, on game day.
Pearl said he can't have contact during game day, which is not true. Especially for a PM game he can do plenty with the team during a game day.
