You have to keep dribbling when no one moves to get open. I am not a homer for Goins but there is a an extreme amount of standing around and not getting open.

If this is the case then they got the call right. Looked like Brian touched it first on the replay.

On TV there appeared to be a bunch of empty seats close to the floor. Found that to be a little odd.

Glad it was a win, but it was ugly. A lot of bad decision making. Three shot clock violations in one game. That should never happen. And that is not even counting the two or three other really bad shots we threw up trying to beat it.

I don't know if it makes anyone else mad, but I can't get over the fact that ESPN.com has snubbed our headlines for our victories on their CBB site. One was for FREAKING GAMEDAY! Both were broadcast ESPN! WTF!?!

Hat, what's your take on McBee (aka McGee) playing so many minutes tonight? Thought he was useful for approximately 1/4 of the time that he was in.

He is part of the problem with everyone else standing around. If your pg is dribble, dribble, shoot crazy it causes everyone else to bog down. He could be a great point guard but his job is to draw 2 or 3 and distribute. He draws 2 or 3 and shoots.
When he dribbles and dribbles the whole flow of the offense is disrupted.

The games we have done really well he has distributed the ball well. The wings don't distribute it either so he isn't the only one.

As awful as Tatum was, as lost as McRae has looked, and with Hopson in foul trouble, somebody has to be out there.

Hat, I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but what are your thoughts on the Kentucky matchup? Honestly their front court looks god awful tonight. I'd think that'd bode well for us...

Tennessee doesn't have anyone I feel comfortable matching up with Terrence Jones.

Agree.

I'm sick of watching him dribble into traffic and either loose the ball or put up a shot that gets blocked. One time tonight I saw him drive to the basket and draw a foul; the result - 1 of 2 from the line. Well, I guess some production is better than none, but man it's painful to watch...

We actually got some help from the officiating today. There was Bone's basket after the shot clock expired, which should have been reviewed. There was a sequence in which Tobias runs over someone, leading with a shoulder and elbow, and gets the blocking call, whereas McBee's moving his feet and draws a charge. We were victimized by some bad calls, too, but I'd say we came out a bit ahead on the deal tonight.

Anything can happen, especially if we get some decent outside shooting as we did against Pitt, but I don't see any way this team sniffs the Sweet 16 unless the half-court offense improves dramatically. Maybe the game-winner tonight is a big confidence builder for Williams, and he becomes a consistent low post scoring threat. That would help immensely.

Did Tatum get benched? I didn't see him AT ALL in the last few minutes. My dad and I were wondering was it because of Leslie's put back dunk on his missed three where he stood there and just let Leslie blow by him and made no effort to contest.

6. When's the last time Goins put together a complete game? I thought he was one of our best players early in the season, but for the last few weeks, he's been lost either offensively, defensively, or both in each game.
7. I thought Scotty started off great and then got out of rhythm when he picked up his third foul. Either way, it's progress.

10. I'll be in Hartford, so I'm still desperate, but I take your point.
11. Weights beat memory foam in a fight every time.

Offense seems to flow better with Golden.
McBee is earning his scholly.
Pearl seems perpetually lost.

I can think of 2 or 3 assists right off the top of my head that Goins had. If the stats say he had 0, they're wrong.
