I know someone asked before on here but I can't find the answer. When do you or what makes you a "Guru" on the board? I was thinking you had to have so many posts and been a member for at least a year?

That's what's been stated, but the reality is that is the minimum requirement. You're at the mercy of the mods to decide if you are GURU worthy or not.

I'm unsure myself, and Freak is never around these days to answer questions like this. :lol:

Membership for a year is the only "cut in stone" standard, and quality counts more than quantity.....and a few well placed 50 dollar bills couldn't hurt to speed up the process.

The last GURU status were awarded for being over 1000 posts and being a member for at least a year but the standards usually gets more difficult each year. I don't like giving out GURU statuses during football season since thats when everyone is here. I like to try and reward the people who come around all year.

As an addendum to this, I would like to state that I will be AWOL for the first couple of months of the offseason due to losing bet with Hat concerning Washington football...

On a side note, it was a unanimous vote AGAINST me, and by some odd twist of fate, I gained GURU status thanks to a wording problem, stating that a "unanimous vote would result in GURU status." :)

Therefore, I'll propose a different wager. For everyPAC 10 game Washington wins, I'll stay off the board for a week. For every PAC 10 loss the Huskies suffer, you're gone for a week. At the end of the season, we'll count them up and serve our respective sentences.

Washington is 2-3 in the PAC-10, with games remaining against ASU (4-3, 1-3), Oregon (5-2, 3-2), Stanford (0-8, 05) and Wazzou (5-3, 3-2). So, they should finish the PAC-10 season at worst 4-5.

Stanford could conceivably win all of those games. Looks like you and hat are gonna be gone around the same amount of time, though. 4-5, 5-4.

What could possibly cause you guys to make such a bet over Washington football though?
