Newton is the better QB. He will prove that in the NFL.

Can't take away what Tebow did for college football and for the Gators. He was one of a kind - until Newton of course :)

And Tebow did his thing squeaky clean.

He's way better throwing the ball than Tim Tebow could hope to be.

Just wanted to know what everybody else thought. Posting on a Gator forum, I'm one of the few who believed Cam to be significantly better than Tebow.

IF we had only seen Tebow for 1 glorious season (like his soph), we would not be debating this argument like this. Cam has had a great year, but all this "greatest player ever" stuff is highly influenced by us only seeing him this year.

Tom Brady had a great year in 2007, but you can't take that year alone to judge how much better he is than other QB's....

Nobody claimed he was the best player ever. I, especially don't believe Tebow was the best player ever, or even close for that matter.

Why not? One look at Newton tells you that he's quicker than Tebow and looks mechanically much better throwing it.

TONS of people said Tebow was the greatest ever. We heard this a lot 2 years ago. A lot.

I'm just saying that if Newton played for at least 2 years, maybe 3, he would not be the "superman" he is right now. He would leave and people would say "he was great", but not greatest player ever.

If Herschal Walker only played his freshman year at Georgia, people would have said the same thing about him.

Between Cam and Tim, I take Cam. Here's another question:

Whose better, Cam or Vince Young? I see Cam as a Vince Young part 2, thoughts?

Vince Young's time with the Titan's have tainted this possible discussion...just sayin'

i say hes not better than Tebow.. i would have to see him for more than 1 year to be able to judge that, and he is most likely gone after the national championship game

Very tough question. On the one hand, Newton is the better passing QB. Tebow more productive in some respects. Both teams absolutely completely dependent on each.

I'd say right now that Cam is the better athlete and has greater potential and we'll see how things turn our for him down the line. His character issues I think do matter for college sports, but not sure how to factor that in.

08 Florida wasn't completely dependent upon Tim Tebow. That team was one of the most talented of last decade, and sure as hell wouldn't have won the title if it weren't for Percy Harvin.

Vince is fragile, Cam is built like a linebacker
Vince still has trouble throwing more than short outs, and Vince has a terrible time understanding anything beyond a basic game plan. I think Cam can do both of those things much better.
