Eric Parker ungrateful?

During the Sunday night game on NBC, the network has each player announce himself in the lineup and they say their school.

Eric Parker followed his name with his high school ...

I don't think it's anything against UT. Sometime's these guys just like to give a "shout out" to their high school. Some even say their elementary school.

On the other hand it could be. This day and time with the video games, the high end lifestyles, theres a lotta spoiled brats out there who are now in their late teens to 20's. They (the generation) have no idea what humility and a hard sweaty days work is. Doing without, doing the best you can on not enough. Saw a bumper sticker a few days ago that pretty much sums up what my notion of the depth of character those who are in their early twenties possess. On the tail end of a huge decked out black and silver hummer it read....''Nothing screams I'm better than you than a 80,000 dollar hummer''. America=weak,spoiled,fat,lazy,arrogant

Such a rosy outlook on life. A guy chooses to honor his high school, so he must hate his college. A few pro athletes act spoiled, so their entire generation must be lazy and arrogant. The next time you feel like trashing America, go live in Russia for a few years first. I find it ridiculously hypocritical that you insult an entire generation and question their gratitude, character, and humility when you clearly don't appreciate the sacrifice so many generations have made to protect America. This has replaced that post you made about Arian Foster as the worst post I have ever read.

The reason I thought they said their high school was because they didn't actually graduate from UT.

Oh yeah?!?! How many times did you see the football players in your grandfather's generation name their high school when they were on prime time TV? This is clearly a sign of how terrible this generation of football players is. Can't you understand? It makes perfect sense! It's just like Arian Foster sitting out games so he can improve his NFL draft status, even though he is only a sophomore. Only a sophomore!...Brilliant!

I don't remember if it was Parker or not but last year one of the previous Wrs spoke out about the lack of coaching provided by Pat Washinton!

Lots of guys have said thier high schools instead of the college they attended. Some are because of issues with thier old school and some are because they want to give thier high school some national attention. I don't see any reasons why Eric wouldn't be proud to be a Vol.

Al Wilson did the same thing before a Monday Night game last year.

My Grandfather's generation didn't have a TV to watch prime time on.:whistling:

Maybe it is harsh. I was attempting to speak to what I feel is a trend in that generation and the one to come. I feel its quite possible Eric Parker could have the attitude I discribed, maybe he doesn't. But it sure is good to know how to push your buttons, it may come in handy down the road.

I thought that was because most of them were suspended from high school and forced to get GED's.

Eric Parker is the former Vol that lashed out about a lack of coaching during his tenure at UT. I can't say I don't disagree since he was under PW.

I'll have you know, the state of Florida has some fine reform school programs in the Dade/Broward area.

Not sure what you mean by this, but in the AFC (I don't have time to check the NFC until later), there are 26 UT players on NFL rosters to Miami's 24. It could change in the NFC, but not by much.

Then again, still not sure if you mean the amount of players, quality of players, or something else.
