The only thing that is hittin' me right now is fried hot dog sammich with sauteed onions and garlic. Baked beans and dogs sound good but you have no bacon or bbq sauce. Mashed garlic and cheese potatoes could be done if you want to do it. Do you have any canned yellow corn? Anyway, I'll be right back.
Behr, I'd llove to try the fried hot dog sammich and cheesy, garlic, mashed taters. My sis wants to try them as well so Dad said it's fine. He just wants me to save a couple hot dogs for him
Wash and half ass peel about 3 potatoes, you don't to peel them well. Bring enough water to cover the potatoes to a boil. Boil them until they are tender, stick a butter knife through the middle. Go ahead and get that started.
When they are done, drain the water. Get sis to grab a fork and start mashing.
While she's doing that, dice about 3 garlic cloves and slice about two nice slices of onion. Cut the slices in half and seperate. Heat about two tsps of olive oil in a pan, when it gets hot add the onions and garlic. Keep the garlic on one side and the onions on the other. Saute them for about 3 minutes (barely beginning to turn brown). Spoon the garlic out and add to the potatoes. Put the onions to the side somewhere.
Add about 3 tbls of butter to the potatoes and keep mix well, add about 1/4 cup of milk a little at a time and keep mixing. They should still be hot, but if not hot enough put them back on the stove just long enough to warm them. Add about 1/4-1/2 cup of your cheese and keep mixing until they get to the consistency you want. They will be a little lumpy, I like them like that and you probably don't have a mixer. Salt and pepper to your taste.
Same pan as the garlic and onions. Split however many dogs you want down the middle (length). Put them in the pan with maybe one tbls olive oil and fry them until they get nice and dark brown on the outside, almosy crispy.
That was quick. Everything turn out good then? Let me know if something wasn't as good as you thought it would be so we can figure out why and fix it for the next time.
I think I could've put more cheese in the taters. Everything was great though. Thank you so much Behr. Now I know how to make mashed taters, I'm so happy!
