3 more steps and he would have died this morning.

He was in the thickest stuff possible.

I grunted, he grunted back and he dropped down the ridge trying to get downwind of me. He stopped again and grunted so I grunted back. He pops his head up and snort wheezes. I grunted back and he just stopped. Then a doe popped up and he went after her instead of walking down the trail.

It was a good morning.

I saw a bobcat kill a squirrel right at daybreak. It happened really, really fast. It was over before I realized what was going.

I hate when that happens. He will mess up before its over.

Has rut already started in tennessee? If so yal lucky rut down south ms don't start til christmas or later

That's a good one cotton.

Starting last Thursday at 1:15 pm, the only time I wasn't in the woods was during the Tennessee - Ole Miss game or at night.

The deer were not moving very good at all.

I saw a few small bucks hanging around each other and 2 does with fawns. The weather screwed everything up.

I'm starting all over again either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

Thank you. It was a hard hunt. I had to walk almost 150 yards from my truck to my hunting spot, and he didn't show himself until 30 minutes after legal shooting. To top that off, it was 45 degrees, and it almost rained.

My only real regret is that I didn't take the picture while I could have gotten his tongue back in his mouth.
