The VN Recipe Thread

You can pierce it with a knife or fork. If done, it will feel soft when pierced. Or, it will feel soft if you squeeze it at the thickest part. Hot, so use a pot holder or something. And, potatoes (microwave, oven or stove top) will continue to cook for a few minutes after removal from the heat source. So does chicken. One reason some might overcook it.

I gotcha, thank you Sly.

Once you get the timing of your microwave down for the potatoes, they'll turn out the same every time.

Remind me not to mention having to experiment with the time to Dad anymore, I'm sick of him snapping at me like I'm stupid. He really pisses me off sometimes

Should I try the "bake tater" button, and just pause it and check every now and then?
Do you have the instructions that came with the mw? A bake tater button seems nice but what size taters did they have in mind? Might find something in the instructions.

I didn't want to say it but I think your dad is wrong for not being proud you're trying to help out and encouraging you instead of calling you names and telling you you're screwing up. Of course I don't know your dad and maybe he has a lot of problems to deal with. We all are proud of what you're trying to do.
