Pearl came out and said that he has gone ahead and set the 10 man rotation. He did say that he really wanted players to rise up and for the best players to come forward and assume their spots but that did t happen to he had to decide. Although it is likely to change over the course ofthe first few games this is what the rotation will look like...

PG: melvin goins/trae golden
SG: Scotty Hopson/skylar Mcbee
SF: Cameron tatum/Renaldo woolridge
PF: Tobias Harris/Steven pearl
C: brian Williams/John fields

I am a little surprised to see swiperboy move ahead of McRae at the SF spot but maybe we will see McRae jump ahead of Mcbee at SG, I definitely think he is much better to have out there than Mcbee. Once again I do expect maymon to bump pearl from the rotation once he is eligible, if he doesn't im gonna start to wonder.

GO VOLS!!!

Mcrae wouldn't play the 4 anyways. Mcrae should be able to work his way into replacing Mcbee behind Hopson. Maymon will probably replace Woolridge behind Tatum when he becomes eligible, he should also be able to backup Tobias. I don't know how Hall is doing injury-wise but I'm hoping he's improved enough to replace Pearl as the backup at the 4. Mcbee is the big shocker, I just don't see it. He's a liability on both ends of the floor.

We are wondering why he's not playing the 3 above Woolridge.

My bad, read the lineup in the original post wrong. Definitely bizarre. Doubt the Woolridge/Mcbee experiment will last very long.

Yea, it makes absolutely no sense. The great depth that we supposedly have looks much worse when you're talking about having Steven Pearl, Woolridge, and McBee on the floor at the same time.

I think injuries have a lot to do with it. There's no way this will be the lineup when conference play rolls around. Hopefully Bone will replace McBee, Mcrae replaces Wool, and Hall replaces Pearl. Two of those are due to injuries.

This sounds about right, I'm still curious to see where exactly Maymon will fit.

Is McRae hurt?

Although I agree with you and cringe when they are out there, I have seen UT win against big competition with these three on the floor. Makes me want to take heart medication though.

I don't have any problem with Pearl backing up Harris right now. But Woolridge over McRae is beyond stupid.

Can't say anything because I haven't seen McRae play since I haven't been able to catch an exhibition game. Just playing Devils Advocate saying that we have won with these three on the floor at the same time. Honestly though I cannot remember if Weezy and/or Prince was on the floor with them against Kansas.

apparently he has to be shown he is not going to be handed a spot, I wish pearl would start someone for hopson until he wants to play,he and mcrae have the jumps, quicks and skills to be in the top 7 or 8 when maymon can play

McRae not being the #3 wing boggles my mind. Where did you hear this?

So, he's punishes a freshman for not showing he enough "effort and discipline" yet Hopson has a starting spot?!?!?!?! That is utterly insane.

By the way, Hall is the better player than Pearl. I thought that last year, and I think that this year.

No offense, but that 2nd team in not good. Who in the hell can score off the bench?

Hopson, Tatum, Harris

As far as I am concerned these three are quality basketball players although Hopson can't cover anyone smaller than he is apparently. Williams was spotty last year at best and looked awful against Indianapolis. Point guard play was awful - hopefully one of the two we are signing will help here albeit a year from now. The rest are role players and should see limited minutes imo. You can't have a 10 man rotation if you don't have 10 quality players. With the talent at hand - he needs to keep these 3 on the court as much as possible and go with a 7/8 man rotation imo. I am hopeful that the tranfer from DePaul will be better than expected and win considerable playing time.

What is the deal with Kenny Hall? How badly is he hurt to not be ahead of Steven Pearl?
